For real! I was glad to hear Uli step up and say something too. I am certain his history with injury to his leg motivates him to speak out. I'd hate to see pro players out due to a fall on a teeshot. Now I just hope they do something about it
@M1ster.Fr3sh3 жыл бұрын
@@Jono. I agree, but I also really think it will change, especially with this kind of pressure from Uli in light of today's exploding popularity. There are thousands of courses to pick from, to think the Pro Tour can't create pressure by standardizing the types of pads allowed to be considered as one of the 12 stops on the tour is crazy. If they made that change, the top 30 courses would install new pads immediately to stay(or attempt to get) on tour.
@JimWhitakerMusic3 жыл бұрын
This is pretty timely, given that the most popular disc golf accessory at Maple Hill last week, was a towel. A towel to lay on the teepad, just so they could plant without going down. It’s pathetic that these big money courses can’t manage to put in pads with some grip. Does anybody care how fancy looking Maple Hill’s pads are, if you’re busting your knees like Kevin Jones? My local courses (pitch and putt compared to these DGPT courses) have good old gritty concrete boxes. Guess what? I play in rain all the time, and have never slipped.

@dingusfuzzklonnkt27553 жыл бұрын
@@potdragon8091 that's a pretty broad generalization. Rules do apply, just like laws they must be enforced. Most disc golfers rely on their opponents word and ethics while playing. Who wants to play a round where you are standing around waiting for a foot fault? These guys are focused on their own rounds. Most people that stand around scrutinizing other players are terrible players. If it's something egregious the card or player himself is going to call it out. You actually think Paul wouldn't call a foot fault he saw? He is 100% by the book as are 99% of pros. Your statement is bs

@potdragon80913 жыл бұрын
Did you like the way he cheated on video on hole 8?
@TromboneMaster953 жыл бұрын
@@potdragon8091 Foot Fault =/= cheating. He did break a rule, his card should have called him on it, but I genuinely think he didn't gain anything from it. It most likely wasn't intentional either. So no I don't support his foot fault but everyone does it from time to time, usually unintentionally. Hell, look at the one Ricky did a while back that Nikko blew up at him about - he probably wasn't intentionally doing it either.
@TromboneMaster953 жыл бұрын
@@wireycoyote3544 I can say without a shadow of a doubt that you can't know that you've "never foot faulted and not knew in your heart that [you] foot faulted". You probably have foot faulted at some point and not noticed, whether it's mistiming a jump putt or slipping after your throw and not seeing it. That's a nonsense statement. Like of course if you know you foot faulted, you foot faulted. But what if you don't notice it? 802.04 E. A player shall receive a warning for the first stance violation in the round. Subsequent stance violations in the same round shall incur a one-throw penalty. Stance violations may not be called or seconded by the thrower. You can neither call nor second yourself - end of discussion. We've actually seen in the past players foot fault, try to call themselves, and nothing happens because no one actually called them and no one actually seconded them. Ricky wasn't dirty to not second himself, Drew isn't dirty to not call himself. End of story. It HAS to be the card's responsibility to call it. Full stop, no question. It's lunacy to expect people to call themselves because a) What if they don't notice like Drew might not have, and b) what if they decide not to call it? Now no one can call it? That's bonkers. Not everyone on the Pro tour is going to be a good enough person to call themselves, let alone your average AM tournament. You can argue about people wanting to bring the energy to the card, and that's fair. But that's the rules. And I don't think that they should be adjusted because there's no rule change that COULD be made without having something like a line judge for every card for every shot which is an egregious expectation.
