Thank you & Kevin, takes me back to the days when I sold & cracked these packs in my second Lgs after the move, cracking these & trading for the foils which I loved.. never sold a foil & ended up with a couple of folders worth of mint foils ... I love how the foiling with the shooting star and the limited curl even after all these years, if only Wotc put the same effort into modern foils! I collected this complete foil set (along with the next 3 sets). It was impossible to complete the sets locally. The distribution of foils was messed up by wizards. The internet was the only way to complete a set. I did well through traveling dealers at pre-releases, but still had to resort to the internet to complete this set. Some cards were impossibly hard to get, and commanded gigantic premiums because they were played in standard. They have really diluted the rarity of foils in these newer sets. Gone are those times I suppose. Thanks for the memories.

the crazy thing to note is that there are far more foil cards in a single collector booster nowadays than they were in a full box 23 years ago. Foils are nothing special now, and not many people still have interest for them, at least that's my assumption of it.

@@vincentperon2950 I agree completely. 1 rare per box of 36 packs, to 2 rares and maybe a mythic in 12 packs. It has made the foils worth much less. I have collected the last 5 foil sets completely, and they are no where the difficulty of completion that the first foil sets were. This will show in their value in the long term.

It is mind blowing to me that the value of an unopened Urza box is so much. Especially when a box of Modern horizons can produce as much if not more monetary value with 60 cards worth over 12 bucks in the run including 50 bucks guaranteed in snow covered lands…. Thanks so much for opening such an expensive box and sharing it with us all.. I can see no other good reason accept creating videos to open them though unless you have an extra 100,000 sitting around and want to spend 10% of it…. Thanks It’s been my first 3 months back into the game since 2003 and I am loving it….

As Rudy likes to say, the price is not just about the cards in the box for these old sets... there's very few of these boxes left out there, and a lot of demand from older Magic players to own one. If you open this stuff you almost always lose money, even considering the premium for graded cards.

I honestly don’t under the people who hate on you Rudy. There are some out there who think you are the devil just because you are smart and played your cards correctly for life. People were mad because they said you had a direct deep with insiders for boxes and such. Honestly I don’t see that as a problem. You have the right contacts and decided to use them to your advantage. Not everyone can do all that. Your classic box openings is one thing that made me want to play the game. It allows me to at least glimpse a slim feeling of how it would have felt if I were playing in that time. Your videos have made me want to do the dumbest choices for mtg, collect 1 of every “standard” print run, so not a full collection because I’m not collecting prints for things like modern, commander, or 2hg. I wish for you to keep up the work and hopefully your channel can keep growing! Thank you!
