I ride 125s thru choice (had a full licence since 1988) and the trick is to treat 50 as your top speed as squeezing out the last 10% of power trashes your mpg by 30% and you feel pee'd off at the lack of power.

@@vrum497 MZ TS 125, hands-down. Only 110kg wet but ergonomically a full sized bike. Only 11 hp but 9ft lbs which was the best torque of any air-cooled 125 of its day. Same performance as the 2t Jap 100s but vastly better comfort and handling. Slow, 55 on the flat, but long stroke motor is not feeble and gutless like the awful 125 Varadero I briefly owned. Dealers used to a sneaky 143cc upgrade for £70 or supply the parts for £35. Then you have 12.5hp and 11 ft lbs. Maintenance-free brakes, they're drums but they're 6 inch wide so work OK. You can still get all the parts you need, including 12v upgrade. You mix oil in the tank using the cup integrated into the filler cap. They're great. Only downside is fuel economy at just 60mpg. Such fab bikes.

On the motorway if there's traffic you can draft vans to reach higher speeds. I'm 6'4 and 100kg and hit 110kmh from just keeping the hammer down behind a van at a safe distance. I believe 115kmhs you hit the limiter. Without drafting 100kmh is about the top. My worst was 75kmh in a very bad headwind. 90kmh is more comfortable though if there's no traffic.

Got a 2018 model. On carriageway hit 73mph. Up long hill 59mph.

Just accept that its a 55mph bike and chill. Ive had powerful bikes and it's over rated. Ps the speedos over read by 10%.

Nice speed test. Both ways gives good overall average. 0-50mph about 10.5 seconds(average both ways). Top Speed about 59mph(average both ways). +3-4mph if tucked in! Well done!!!

OK, so about a 98km/h top speed combined, however true speed should be closer to 92 I guess because most motorcycle speedometers tend to have a 7% postivie error or more.

Dont put a bigger front sprocket on it , it will KILL the bike climbing hills coz i did it and swapped back....

how did you only manage to get 65mph out of this bike? it might be due to weight. Ive had it up to 72mph but i weigh 55kg and im 5"0 so its likely to have an affect on speed

@@leandrosmarquis9789 i wouldn't worry too much, you'll be able to hit max speed pretty easily. Even if you were much heavier youd still get it to max speed. Now if you weighed something like 18 stone, it might take longer. 95kg shouldnt be an issue at all though.

You guys are lucky, coz u got 90/90 rear tyres there at least. Here in India, same model bike(Honda SP125) comes with 80/100 rear tyre. And s*itty graphics on the tank and side panels..

I may have only just got into these 125's for my son, but ... this appears to be the old air cooled model with about 11bhp and NOT the 2021> spec with completely new water cooled engine and 14.5bhp!

my Honda vision110 does little better. it would go beyond if not for the rev limiter that start choking the engine at 65. i keep under 65mph as the stutter is annoying.

Get a good after market exhaust stops the bike sounding like a sewing machine and transform it to sound like the bike it is.
