The new OMEN 17 almost upgraded everything compared with the last gen. The design language is similar with the refreshed new OMEN 15/16. Not same to the OMEN 16 are offering AMD platform option (AMD CPU+GPU). So far, this OMEN 17 is only available with the Intel CPU plus Nvidia GPU. This video reviewed the benchmark and gaming performance of this new Intel 11th 10nm CPU and the full-power 140W Nvidia RTX3070 GPU equipped with this laptop. Also, this video reviewed the new 17.3" 2K 165Hz IPS screen and the feeling of the optical mechanical keyboard, which are excellent for gamer and content creator. The benchmark of CPU/GPU/SSD are tested. 4 games (Dota 2, RDR 2, Battlefield 5 and Cyberpunk 2077)are tested at both 2k and 1080p resolutions. This video reviewed both noise and the thermal results with these 4 games. This video also tested the benchmark of content creation software, like Adobe Premier Pro and 3D modeling software like Maya and Solidworks. Great and detailed review about this excellent machine!! It is surprising, but it is better than legion 5 pro, even in cooling system! But there is a lot weight.... but Not so great problem. RDR2 - 2k, ultra, gpu - 70 , cpu - 75.... Omg, it is absolutely victory!

great work. first consider investing in a windscreen or mic that doesn't pickup as much plosives when you speak close to it, cuz was a bit hard to hear otherwise I'm wondering cuz not sure whether the screen actually cover everything for color editing as the AdobeRGB and NTSC shown isn't quite up to 90% which I think I saw in reviews are the lowest to what are considered professionally accurate specs and as well no benchmark on this beast of a laptop's battery performance. again thank you for sharing with us ur review.

Thanks a lot for your suggestions. Yeah, I agree with you that this screen cannot be used for a very serious content creation. I have a HP Z31x, which looks much better. But I think it is good enough for some mobile work without a professional monitor. I will have a new mic later. The battery life is hard to test, I will think about that. Thanks, again!

Actually your laptop's stock rams are 1Rx8 and its the better one compared to the 1Rx16 one, so it's actually a pros not a cons, considering others ship it with 1Rx16 nowadays

I got a similar model of omen 17. I'm having some weird airflow with my model where it seems like it breathing. Does your laptop have similar exhaust sound? Like the airflow sound is inconsistent and wavy, almost like it breathing every second. I'm trying to figure out if it a faulty fans or if it by design.

I don’t have this kind of issue. But as I mentioned in the video, the fan noise is always there even the laptop is idle. I also just found another issue, the bottom side of the touchpad is not working occasionally. I am asking for a replacement now.

Yes, the one I got is a Samsung DDR6 GPU memory, which can easily OC +1000MHz. I could get around 62MH/s.

If you want a better screen (higher resolution) go with the HP Omen 17, if you want to squeeze out a bit more FPS then go with the MSI GP76 Leopard as it's FHD 1080p. The HP Omen 17 drains a bit more of the GPU as it's Quad HD

Hi, the i5 is 6 cores 12 threads vs i7 8 cores 16 threads. So if you are a gamer, I think that is fine. Since not so many game can use all the 8 cores. But if you are a heavy CPU user for rendering or other engineering computing work. The i7 might be a better choice. I think 3060 is good enough for gaming at 1080p. But for 2K resolution, the 3070 might be a better choice.

Yes, I think so, the OMEN 17 screen is much better and this 96W new 11th i7 is very powerful. However, if you are a very heavy user, I think a good external display is also a good solution.

@@jg_barfi I'm not quite recommend you to buy it there. I went to Newegg and saw that item you mentioned. It is from 3rd party seller. I saw the price is really high, you might check with the HP official website as well, usually they have some discount there. This model has pretty limited stock now, I would suggest you to wait for a while, if you are not in hurry to use it. However, I think it just wrong labeled, since there is no config for 2021 OMEN 17 equipped with 10th intel CPU.

Good question. For RDR2, most of the graphic setting is ultra/high with DLSS at auto. For Cyberpunk, also ultra/high with Ray Tracing ON (ultra) and DLSS at balanced mode.

The rank# is not critical, but you need to be careful about the density. The stock memory is single rank with 16 banks, which is high density. You might looking for the low density RAMs. The easiest way is to check how many dies on the module. The more dies, the lower density.

Yes, it can cold switch (need restart) between the Hybrid and Discrete graphic cards in the command center. A discrete GPU could give you a better laptop built-in display gaming FPS. Yes, the benchmark is tested with discrete GPU mode.

I just got this monster yesterday. I also have the omen 15 so I have a 200 watt and 230 watt charger. These two will charge the omen 17 and run it at most of it's performance but it will throttle in intense gaming and high you usage apps. Otherwise it's normal performance. So maybe this is an alternative when mobile to save on carry weight?

Yeah, I agree with you. This 11th Intel CPU looks like draining more power compared with the AMD Ryzen CPU. If HP can develop a GaN charger at 250W that would be great.

Mine came with the Intel AX201 card. You can probably upgrade it with the AX211, but you have to remove the cooling pipes to get to the slot.

@@carlosbecerra8409 todo god, no le hice mantenimiento aun pero usé todo el tiempo un cooler de ITS potente, la compre aprovechando un metodo de perfil de empleado hp te salia a 1500usd aprox, te recomiendo si vas con esta linea compra las mas reciente con serie 4000
