I love this video. I own both the new Honda Accord 2.0T and the Kia K5 GT-Line. I couldn't find many GTs at the Kia dealerships. I am wondering if the Kia K5 GT justifies the extra expense when commuting in the city? Insurance premiums are a lot higher than same amount of coverage for the GT-Line. My GT-Line has enough power with 1.6T (180 hp) and 195 lbs of torque. The Honda Accord 2.0T is competitive with the K5 GT 0-60 in about 5.6 seconds.

Wow. I thought we'd come farther than that, I guess because I came from an optima hybrid and wife has a 1l 3cyl fiesta. So we've spent years using 6ish litter. I thought those would be the stats for like large trucks and stuff. Learn something daily.

@@MaverickRenegade80 yes its awesome to save money 💰 on fuel driving hybrid. But if you meet that Optima GT on highway it will fly by and not even notice you and passing other cars when needed becomes so easy on such car. But you have to pay for emotions it gives when you stop on gas station.

How bad is the tire spin on acceleration? You honestly accelerated at stops the way I normally would and when you got back on the highway, you did a semi-aggressive acceleration but I didn’t hear tire spin. Idk, it seems if you’re not flooring it, you should be ok? I’m interested in this bad boy or the stinger gt line that just came out. Currently have and love my K5 GT line (but want more HP when my lease is up). Thank you!

I had it in sport mode, you may get more wheelspin in sport+ mode. You'll like it, it's fun

I love the K5 and Kia, but personally I feel Kia did the K5 dirty. No digital gauges, leatherette-only seats, no surround view monitor, no power folding mirrors, no heads up display, no heated rear seats or rear sunshades, no LSD or AWD for the GT, no active bending headlights, no red brake calipers, and no quilted seat options. Those features, except AWD, the LSD and the digital gauges were available for the last generation Optima. It's a shame that they nerfed the K5 so hard when it has so much potential. That is not "Giving it everything" Kia. Do better next Model year please.

I think you're mixing up models, the Optima didn't have most of that. How did they nerf it? The Optima was a peppy family car at best, slower than the Camry TRD. The K5 GT is like a entry Sport Sedan, with the new Stinger's base motor and Hyundi's new DCT..steering as precises as the Honda Accord Sport/Toruing. Seems a like a big upgrade to me. How much are you expecting to get for $34k?

Yea the K5 has more power and torque and a more exciting design, but you miss out on many of last generations features. In that video, the Optima SX-Limited comes with a heated steering wheel, heated rear seats, rear sunshades, dynamic bending headlights, power folding mirrors, a surround view monitor, and quilted nappa leather seats with many color options. Not to mention the 2020 optima had available colored ambient lighting. None of those features I listed are available on the K5 on any trim. Those were some features that really helped set the Optima apart. The k5 is an awesome car, but they watered it down a Lil bit. Not to mention the other markets get a rotary gear selector, digital gauge cluster, and more interior color options as well as all those other features I listed above.

You can find those options in Korea. Korean trims don’t include rear folding seats & the headlight drls are just white instead of amber in the states. IMO I want the Korean trim with led color ambient lighting, digital cluster etc...

@@greg.anywhere 100% agree. I currently have a 2018 Optima SXL and it has so many awesome features that I feel the k5 got nerfed as well. 360 camera, heated rear seats, Nappa leather seats, red calipers, auto leveling hid lights, etc.

Black has to be washed at least every 2 weeks, and hand waxed every 6 months to stay in good shape. Nothing looks worse than a nice, new black car thats dirty. And black paint will fail sooner because it gets super hot in the sun. And thats very bad for the paint, uv rays will start destroying the paint too.
