@whitehusky33 жыл бұрын
Same! Laundry was my chore growing up, and I was taught to separate out the whites and colors, even though I never bothered when my mom wasn't looking. As an adult, I don't care. I just don't buy white clothes so I can wash everything together. When I have white socks, no one is going to see them anyway, so I just toss them in with everything else.

this! I have a black labrador and light tiled floor. I often have plucks of hair in corners of my house and I used to be so embarrassed but it's just hair. I do vacuum every day and my house is generally clean but they are just dogs that shed very much and I have accepted it. My family used to 'shame' me for it but one day I said 'nobody is forcing you to come over to my place, don't like it, don't come but there is going to be pet hair everywhere' 💁🏽♀️😂

@lesley14843 жыл бұрын
Your homemaking skills are on point! I always separate my clothes by light, dark, weight and whites. I actually have a separate bin for whites only. I find that drying clothes the minimal time (with all the spandex and synthetics), allows them to keep their shape and last a LOT longer. By the way, I always leave the "fluff" from the dryer vent cleaning in the yard. The birds will gather it ALL to make nests. Amazing how fast it disappears.
@Lucinda_Jackson3 жыл бұрын
I agree - dry on low and just till dry. Also, use about half the detergent the package tells you to (unless you’re washing really dirty or greasy or grimy things, of course) and avoid fabric softener. Oh! And add an extra rinse. Your clothes and your washer will last much longer and look cleaner and newer longer.

Thank you for sharing.

THANK YOU, I was beginning to think I was the only one that still separated laundry 😂 I actually have a basket for our dark clothes (such as jeans and hubbys uniform clothes) and another basket for the whites (such as towels, t-shirts etc). Not to mention I even trained my husband to know what basket to put laundry in🙌🏻!
@dicesof83 жыл бұрын
@@rebeccabraswell9192 Yes! My thing about separating is that certain clothes/fabrics should be washed at different temperatures. Towels, delicates (no fabric softener) , darks, whites/lights, and then I have a load for just uniforms. But it’s also just me and the husband so I may just have 5 or 6 loads of laundry a week (1 load a day)

This is just something I learned as a cleaning lady. For areas where there are a lot of wires and small areas, get a cheap short feathered..feather duster. (Dollar General) Have a canister vac nearby with the crevice tool attached. Gently work your feather duster around wires and electronics while suctioning the dust away with your vac. I actually used this method on the inside of an old piano...it worked great!

I love how when you were shampoo cleaning your carpets with the Bissell, your Husky was walking all over them, haha! It reminds me of the daily craziness in my house! I have three big standard poodles. I don’t really have a problem with the dog hair everywhere because poodles don’t shed( thank god!), but I do have a major problem with dirt! Dirt dirt dirt everywhere!!!! I am a very clean person and I have my daily cleaning routines, but I just can’t keep up with my floors! We have all wood flooring in our home which I love, but it’s soooooo hard to keep clean with the dogs! We have a doggie door leading out to our backyard so they are always going outside and playing and trailing back in mud and dirt and whatever else! Sometimes I don’t even feel like cleaning my floors because I know they’re just gonna be trashed in 30 minutes!

Cambria, I love all the things in your videos,even tasks that don't apply to my home or my life give me insights into your generation. I wanted to pass along a tip I got from a pro carpet cleaner. After your rugs have been shampooed, use a rinse of hot water with one or two tablespoons of fabric softener. Of course, you want to go over and over with the suction to remove as much moisture as possible. The point of the fabric softener rinse is to remove any lingering soap residue so that the soap is not adhering to new soil and stains. We have always done this and also occasionally just use this rinse for a quick clean. Our rugs have held up so well over the years. Hope this helps! You always share good tips with us.

Great cleaning! I like the white curtains more than the grey ones. I do sort my laundry because I use a variety of temps on my clothes. The only thing I wash on cold are my delicates. I have 3 others to choose from, hot, warm and a perm-a press cycle. I use hit water for all my towels and some of my sheets. I feel this helps to sanitize and disinfect them. I also add a fabric disinfectant, called Odo Guard.
