Awesome review. Though I would be tempted to get the convertible myself I’ll await your review of the Coup because I think the weight savings will transform this unit into an AMG.

I believe you'll find that the weight savings is less than 150 pounds, so not much different at all.

I'm curious to what your job was at BMW. You look so relaxed while ripping cars on mountain roads or the track, while talking with great detail at a very technical level. And somehow you've worn out the breaks and is still totally relaxed. :) Especially things about the suspension and driving feel with seemingly high expertise. It's impressive!

compared to current and last gen German performance convertibles it's pretty normal, isn't it? C63, RS5, M4, etc. all weigh around 1900-2100kgs. If you want less you need a Roadster with 2 seats. Also doesn't have the AMG Dynamic Plus package bigger breaks or are they just tinted in red? Would be interesting to hear a test from you about the new M4 Convertible on the same road.

2 reasons why revs are limited to 4,000rpm. 1) in Europe we now have sound emission law. 2) you shouldn’t Rev a cold car. So many testers do this and it’s a great way to damage your engine. Get the engine oil and gearbox oil up to temp before you Rev your engine! The 1st is the main reason though.

Weight is 4,566. Not too bad considering the 20 m4 comp vert is about 4,250 and the 21 c63 s cab is 4,277. I’m currently cross shopping them all, not particularly fond of the new kidney grille so looking for as near to new m4 I can find as a 20. Wish they’d have done the c63 matte option as blue instead of the white for 21 then I’d be sold. Also, the new e53 has the more updated interior look that I prefer. I’ve found the m4 to be a bit more raw, the C in the middle and the E the softest. Leaning towards the C but the wife prefers the E. I’ll be in one soon tho... thanks for the review!

"Listen to the exhaust" EVERYTHING sounds like garbage. Microphones please. Or at least put a phone near the exhaust at some point and edit the sound in afterwards.
