I am not a big fan of that vertical infotainment system. It looks like someone stuck large tablet onto the dashboard. At that price range I'd prefer the integrated variety, that looks much cleaner. Also, I am curious, do you have to take the key fob out to activate the door handles in order to open the doors? The best feature of a key fob is that it can remain in your pocket or handbag.

Of course not, they come out when you approach the car with the key.

To me Mercedes has done a terrible job by changing its flagship automobile's design. Previous design was so perfect that it didn't need any change. Given that it has big screen that makes the car look a lot more Technological, I get the sense that they wanted to make car more like a concept technological car to showcase tech devolopment of the car but there was no necessity to do that because we always knew this car was pioneer in terms of technology, safety and luxury in the sector. Mercedes didn't have to make interior appear more technological to show us how technological this car is at the expense of replacing unique, beautiful and elegant interior of the previous design

true totally agree. this is a wanna be tesla design language with cheap displays. Mercedes in my mind is also like any other brand like use and throw. gone is the legendary reliability. German engineering has no hindsight always develops latent defects compared to Japanese. I think currently Far East makes better cars. eg Genesis, Lexus

There are things that I love and hate about this model! I hate the uncovered screens in the dash more than anything! The 2020 model is my favorite since they kept the screen under the dash with that overhang that I love which keeps the screen shaded from sunlight! Now all the screens are IPad looking which to me looks cheap without the overhanging dash like the previous model! I also hate the tail lights on this model! Overall I would still love to have this model if I could have it but I would still prefer the 2020 or should I say the last design of the previous model!

Great. But why do you need this much technology in a car. I am willing to bet, 90% of the people that buy this car open their front door with a key or keypad, none of the doors in their house are soft close, the water temperature needs to be adjusted manually, they still wipe their tush the old fashioned way and pull up one sock on each leg in the AM. It's too extreme. If I had this much money to spend, I would do a full restoration of a low mile 1991 560 SEL at the MB classic center and retrofit modern conveniences like a navi and backup camera for timeless elegance that will depreciate a lot less than this car.

New luxury car designs - all of them - are having at least one thing out of proportion or something that don't blend in. In this case it is the strikingly odd looking alloy spokes. Those alloy spokes and the grille of the car doesn't somehow resonate with each other at all.
