Once or twice you mentioned it not being "race quality" but back in the 80s being 5'5 & 97 lbs. These bikes would be treated/used as "race quality" in many a neighborhood. this bike even now in the right hands will do some shredding!

I just got one last night, the frames are definitely not chrome plated on the 2021 reproductions. They are painted light grey. These new reproductions make good wall hangings but they are not made exactly like the original ones that were made in California in the early 80's.

Was the original 80s bike actual chrome or was it always chrome plated?

@@LOPANindustries the original Californian frames and handlebars were nickel plated and were shiny like chrome.

So angry at this moment, bought one of these from Germany brand new from a bike dealer, they had took it out, built it up then re packaged it within one of their own generic extra large size box and threw away the original packaging. When I contacted them they said they must check over bikes and part assemble all their bikes, but yet when I bought the stranger things Netflix mongoose from the same company a few years earlier they sent it in original box. Must say I was pretty angry not getting this one delivered untouched.
