Criteria: Factored Shear ≤ Design Shear Capacity Vu ≤ ϕVn, dividing both sides by “bwd” becomes Vu/(bw d) ≤ (ϕVn)/(bw d) → Termed as “Design Shear stress ≤ Design Shear Stress Capacity”.
