Call it a “bumper” works for the elevated and regulation types. Edit: referring to the narrators ? on what those things covering the poles are called. I like both plinth and pedestal mentioned, visually makes sense, just not weight bearing.

I think describing the context from the chase card in relation to lead card adds a storyline that is fun to follow. Personally, I make an effort so I don’t get spoiled with results ahead of time, no Reddit and no Twitter etc.. just make sure to watch lead card Jomez and treat this as bonus desert footage.
