Remarkably incredible!! Take all other wooden boat channels on KZbin and put them all together and they wouldn't have 10% the glory of Cieba. Mind blowing! Double planked! So once she's planked, you have to go back, and plank her AGAIN!! Such incredibly talented shipwrights! Almost unbelievable.

Great shipwrights,grand idea taking some of the power away from the cargo liners, nice accommodations, as a shipwright I would come down there to help but I have 4 wooden sailboats a dog and a girl and traveling is always a dream for me

I wish someone would have done this 40 years ago. I'd of found a way to be part of this. when I was getting my ship fitters card the focus was on steel . but I had a teacher that began his ship fitting apprenticeship at 12 in Ireland on wooden ships . my great-grandfather was a wood artist . one of his carvings has been in a museum for 100 years . he was a master at his craft . me I'm not so skilled as those guys but I have a tremendous love of the sea and boats especially wooden boats. what is your estimated launch date?

All right now! ~~~ How to move this boat? ~~~ Plank the outside hull, throw some paint on so it will float ~~~ Put wheels on the (watertight hull) with a DC12 Bulldozer, blocks and tackle, Big Tow Boat/Tug Boat(s) ~~~ FLOAT the hull NOW (through all that mud) ~~~ Tow the Hull to the nearest established shipyard that (maybe) has a dry dock. Start another boat with the same crew. The new boat could be 175 feet long. Proceed from there. OR ~~~ Just dredge a DRY DOCK in front of the boat and Line the dry dock with TEAK. ~~~ I worked at the PORTSMOUTH NAVAL SHIPYARD for a couple of years. (A really OLD shipyard in New Hampshire USA.) ~~~ You need a DRY DOCK ! ~~~ Then start the next boat. ~~~ No worries ~~~. ❤❤❤ ~~~. (and). ~~~ 💙💛~~~ (just saying)

Regular cargo ships ( steel ones ) loose containers overboard in storms all the time , we just never hear about it on the news , unless of course it's a situation like the EverGiven that got stuck in the Suez Canal last year and delayed hundreds of ships on both sides of the canal from going anywheres for more than a month ? or so :( With Ceiba's 2 electric engines they will be able to motor / Sail as needed in a very Eco- friendly way , so delivery deadlines shouldn't be a problem :)

Everyone has a right to their own dreams, and sometimes crazy ideas turn out to work. I live along the Erie Canal which, in the early 1800's was ridiculed as Governor Clinton's Ditch and criticized for costing so much. It made back its cost in less than 5 years and revolutionized shipping to the Great Lakes and the west. There are many other innovations which seemed foolish at first.

This is perhaps the most questionable "sustainable" shipbuilding project I've seen. How many trees will be needed to produce a small cargo vessel like this? How many hectares of forest will be lost? I fully endorse the idea of alternatives to fossil fuel vs otherwise extremely polluting ocean vessels, but to cut down all this timber just to be "green" is a myth. And don't justify the harvesting with reforestation efforts by saying, ''We will plant so and so many trees for your patreon/support money''. Re-planting, reforestation and safeguarding of forests is sooooo much more, wherever you are on the planet. Likewise, how much damage to nature will be done to produce the enormous battery bank needed to propel the ship? I thought you knew that the new alternative energy for big boats and vehicles is hydrogen from oil where the carbon is separated under control and safely stored back in wells, and not in battery production where among others kobolt and other trace minerals have been mined super non-sustainably and in some cases by children. Yes, I know wind and sails is 'the' positive factor in any equations of the sustainability of this vessel, but from the plans I've seen I don't see any use of modern, lightweight and efficient rigs/sails. Finally, unless the project can show the whole carbon footprint of the project I have my doubts about it.

You are not Wrong to feel this way, It's a PIPE DREAM, when you lay it all out and look at the impact of Mining rare earth materials for the Batteries, the Copper for wiring, the plastics and rubber for insulation for the wiring, all the wood used, how long it will take to grow another tree large enough to harvest to make those huge beams, then the reality of how slow this ship will be in contrast to current ships. This is nothing more than young folks spending someone else's money and enjoying a working vacation.
