Good video too and no stupid music! Hearing that engine scream is the music!!
@flatlander86
@flatlander86 4 жыл бұрын
Haha thanks, more less just don't have music on my computer to add to the video. I know some like it some don't. Trail riding videos are harder because they tend to be a little more boring so adding some music sometimes helps but yes i know lots also just like hearing the exhaust tone. Thanks for watching.

Thanks for watching and congrats man its a great sled as long as its not plagued by the issues lots are having with crappy injectors. I love riding mine every minute sometimes i want something different or more but thats just my personality lol ive gone through like 40 or more vehicles by the time i was 30.

Thanks for all the videos, I have been trying to gauge whether or not to buy one of these. I have been riding High Counry's since 2013 have had 3 of them up to my current 2014 Limited and absolutely love the sled but I am in the market for a new one. I know this sled would perform to my liking but not sure the 2.6" track is suited for the majority of riding I do. I love ditch banging, jumping road approaches, hanging a ski and the occasional dangle on the ditch side over a bridge. Have you looked into swapping the track to the Blast 2" track? I believe it would fit. Wondering if you heard of this or know of anyone who has done it? I think a 2 or 2.25 would be plenty. I make the occasional MI and WY/CO/MT trip but I would not put the 2.6 to good use for 90% of what I am going to do. Appreciate your thoughts.
@flatlander86
@flatlander86 3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching the videos. I did have the same worries about the track but mainly due to it being an alpha track and not a 2.6. I know less lug is better for trail riding but i also knew i needed more for out west. The 2.25 on the high countrys did ok on trail and ok off trail but still not enough for out west. I have seen lots of comments on the 2 inch blast track but also came across that they dont have the stiffness for the full size sled so they might rip apart easier. They should fit but just might not last long. Your best bet would be if you want this sled is to get it and try it out. I was worried about the track i haven't felt it fold over. Im lucky no missing or even ripped lugs. I have not many issues on trail in minimum snow and on hard pack with it and well in soft deeper snow it just hooks it just does its a great track especially with the alpha skid and makes me a better rider then i am and takes me places i probably shouldnt be haha. If after you get it and figure out its too much and youd like a 2.25 you can cut the track down. Thatd be my suggestion, then you still have a stronger track made for the sled just not the lug height. Idk its a hard decision i struggled with it for a long time as its a lot of money to put down. Yes a twin rail 2 inch would be perfect for the trails but wouldnt be perfect for the deeper stuff. I think even for out west id like the 154 more love ridding my unlces alpha but it just makes the deeper and steeper hill climbs easier but the 146 fun factor is untouchable. There unfortunately isnt a perfect all around do everything sled, but for me and my style this is pretty damn close. Ps this chassis is miles ahead of the pro climbs and pro cross chassis. The ascender is awesome. Good luck with your search for your next sled. If you remember please comment back when you buy one as ill be curious to what you went with and how you like it. Thanks again for watching.

Great vid bud, good info. Im still riding my 2012 800 proclimb 153 snowpro, shes a handful on the mountain. That riot looks like it would be way fun on the powerlines and ditch bangin.
@flatlander86
@flatlander86 4 жыл бұрын
Yah unfortunately we don't really have powerlines to run down and sadly not much snow right now for good field or ditch banging. The little bit of deeper snow i have been able to find its fun. End of Jan hopefully going out west to the mountains so we will see how it does. Thanks for watching

Hey, Fellow Sask rider here looking for a new sled. How is that alpha rail? im nervous of getting one being 90% of my riding will be out here in the flat land with harder packed snow. I guess im worried of the strength of the rail. Also, do the riot x's have the longer heat exchanger in the tunnel for better cooling in less snow. thanks
@flatlander86
@flatlander86 3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching. I like the alpha its a fun lively sled. The rail strength i havent had issues with i do consider myself lucky as others have not. The riot xs do have the longer heat exchanger but you'll still need to run the scratchers down. Depends on what you want to do if your just going to hit trails all the time the alpha might not be the sled for you. If you want to do some trails and find some off trails and maybe a trip or two out west then its a great sled for that. I'd say go twin rail if your 90 on trail 10 off if your the 70/30 on/off this is good in my opinion. The twin rail is just easier and you can be more lazy in a sense on trail compared to the alpha. Hopefully that helps.

Beauty sled. does that have a heat exchanger rear of the tunnel?
@flatlander86
@flatlander86 4 жыл бұрын
Yes it does. We dont have much snow and a few of the days riding was pretty warm so ive always had the scratchers down. With the scratchers down the temps stay good if it was a M series with just the front cooler im sure id be stopping a few times to try and cool it down. I can do a test later now that we have a little better snow and its cooler out to see how it does without the scratchers but not im not as worried about cooling as i have at least one down to help the hifax(slider) out. Thanks for watching and the comment.

Do you have anything done to it to make the skis lift that easy?
@flatlander86
@flatlander86 3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching, to answer your question no this is 100% stock i havent even played with the shock clickers they are all set to 2. In my video playing in weeds i put my front skid clicker to 3 and rear skid clicker to 1 for a little better transfer. Through the trails it has no issues lifting the skis almost on command.

So Does the X version really lift the skis that much and that easily because that’s what I want for 23 year sleds but I just wanna know if it can lift skis
@flatlander86
@flatlander86 2 жыл бұрын
The x compaired to ? In this video it was all stock so what you see its what you get. I have since messed around with it a bit and now lifts more and easier but i have lost some trail manners. In stock form yes it lifts easily and that much. You cant be on flat ground and expect to drag the bumper though. Going over approaches and hills/bumps you can get the front to pop up easy. Thanks for watching.

Yes hopefully ill be able to get you a somewhat answer at the end of Jan. Hoping to do a trip out west and one sled should be a 18 hc 153 i might be able to jump on that and kind of give a back to back comparison we will see what happens. Thanks for watching.

Love the picture quality just not cold weather use so ill see what im able to do and get thorough out winter here, we havent even gotten cold here yet either thats the bad part.

Is it still decently quick and what kind of speed will it run?
@flatlander86
@flatlander86 2 жыл бұрын
Yah you know that's all subjective. But for me to be doing 50mph in our trails is honestly fast enough so is it a true fast trail burner no but is it still kind of fast and fun hell yes. Top speed id think would be high 70s maybe just into the 80s ive never held it open to find it, dont want to blow the sled up just to find a top speed i wont be going after all the time. Its in the gearing, lower end speed and grunt seems to be up and is way up compared to my zuk engines, which makes it more fun for down low throttle blipping kind of riding. Hopefully this helps. Thanks for watching and commenting any other questions just ask and ill do my best to give you the answers.

These Arctic engine come out with 165 hp same as the skidoo 850 so it technically the same power. 850 it a marketing thing
@flatlander86
@flatlander86 3 жыл бұрын
This engine feels very snappy. I haven't tried the 850s yet but this engine is awesome. My skidoo buddy actually really liked the engine so that says a bit. I get the marketing thing but in this day and time it's all headline readers so to stay relevant i think they need a 850. Most won't every get to the part where the hp numbers are about the same. Tq numbers would be higher on the 850 but how much I'm not sure.
