/ @bethebossofyourmotorc...
In this video I finally ride a Road Glide. I also test rode the 2021 Pan America. And lastly, I took my 2021 Limited CVO in to have the clutch lever adjusted. It was way too far out.
You may be asking yourself, who are PRELOADERS?
PRELOADERS:
Subscribers to this channel who are dedicated to being proficient in slow speed motorcycle operation.
What does PRELOAD mean?
PRELOAD:
Engaging the throttle to raise the RPM’s (revolutions per minute) above idle and holding the throttle there, with the clutch pulled in (no power to the rear wheel, “in reserve” “PRELOADED”). This process will make power to the rear wheel available to the rider immediately when the clutch is opened up. There’s no need for the rider to be concerned with twisting the throttle for power because it’s already PRELOADED.

WHEN YOU RECEIVE THE EMAIL NOTIFICATION OF A SCHEDULED PRACTICE SESSION, IF YOU WANT TO PARTICIPATE IN THAT PRACTICE SESSION, YOU MUST SEND AN EMAIL STATING YOU WOULD LIKE TO ATTEND TO RESERVE YOUR SPOT. IF THERE IS STILL AN AVAILABLE SPOT FOR YOU, YOU WILL BE SENT A CONFIRMATION EMAIL WITH A CONFIRMATION NUMBER (1-10). IF ALL TEN (10) AVAILABLE SPOTS ARE ALREADY RESERVED, YOU WILL RECEIVE AN EMAIL ADVISING YOU OF THAT. IF YOU HAVE A CONFIRMED RESERVATION AND YOU CAN NOT MAKE IT TO THE PRACTICE SESSION, PLEASE ADVISE ME AS SOON AS POSSIBLE SO ANOTHER V.I.PRELOADER CAN USE THAT SPOT. All riders MUST complete a “HOLD HARMLESS AGREEMENT” form and submit it via email prior to participating in a practice session. Pre-loading has changed my riding. I’ve never been scared to take off from a stop only to stall the bike. I remember my very first time out on the road I stalled the bike at a stop light and it held up traffic which can be embarrassing. It was because I would ease out the clutch and use slight throttle but now I don’t fear because I am a pre-loader for life.

@@BeTheBossOfYourMotorcycle yeah man it’s really changed my riding style. Fortunately for me I am the Range Aid at Doc’s Harley Davidson and I get to practice slow speed maneuverability. I take my bike (06’ CVO V-Rod) out to my high school parking lot and practice clutch control and the use of throttle control and rear brake to ensure my skills are up to par. My goal is to one day own a Road Glide and have NO Fear!! I want to take control of my motorcycle.

We all know how KZbin works, it's a black hole. Come here for one thing and eventually end up watching videos that have nothing to do with what you started with. However, this time around I was back to motorcycle videos and saw your channel pop up. Robert, I can't thank you enough for sharing your knowledge/experience with all of us 'lesser mortals' (lol). In the last few days alone I have noticed the amount of subs has steadily been increasing and I don't see it slowing anytime soon. I have started to apply your methods to my slow speed riding and the difference is night and day. I'm currently tearing up the mean streets on a 2015 Kawasaki Vulcan S and this evening I decided to do the "slow ride" down my street. I happened to glance down at the speedo while I was moving and it was reading zero. Definitely a feel good moment. Since I started riding a year and a half ago (18 months, I had to say it.....BAHAHA) I made sure to get into the habit of using the rear brake sub 15 MPH, I had just never used it for slow speed skills until I started watching your channel. Well, that's enough rambling. I'm hoping to make it down there from Ohio at some point this year once I find the time. To my fellow PRELOADERS, I'm happy to have joined. Thanks again, Robert.

Take your heel shifter to the next level. Install a “shorty” heel shift peg. I got mine for $39.95 from Thrashin Supply Co. It frees up more usable space on the floorboard. And you can operate the heel shifter with the arch of your foot instead of the heel of your boot.

Have you done a video on passenger do and don’ts? I know my wife rides with me a lot and sometimes it feels like I’m struggling with her going around tight corners and at slow speeds. Is there a video explaining to her what she can do on the back to help instead of complicating the ride? I put the same question on another video and added it to this one just in case you see it here instead of the other.

Have your wife mimic your moves. When you look left to make a turn she needs to look left. You look right to make a turn, she needs to look right.. Also have her lean forward into you when making turns. If she leans all the way back as you're trying to make turns it completely changes the dynamics of how the bike handles. Trust me, having a 100+ pound sack of potatoes trashing side to side leaning against the back rest makes things difficult !

If you buy a bike and you find your having near misses with cars not seeing you, get brighter gear if it still happens get another bike. Nice bike reviews, by the way. (Sorry for the multiple comments...I know you don't like that, so I will work on it.) Anyway, I don't like the look of the "shark nose" on the Road Glide. I like the "Bat Wing" on the street. The PA has more power than I would want to attempt. Haha But still, great reviews.

Holy crap.. there’s no bikes at the dealer. Oh man.. scary times. I’ve never ridden a fixed fairing bike and wondered about the bars turning but fairing staying straight.. didn’t think about the fact that we’re not looking down (look down bike goes down). More Simmons perspectives that get overlooked by a lot of us in sure that you catch and point out You must have some amazing confidence to hop on a new $30k bike and start right away with some u turns and tight circles. I’d be nervous 😬 to a screw up and have that one glitch happen then.. stuff happens man. I’d rather it on my bike than someone else’s

Thanks Gerald. Yes that confidence comes with practice of course. I wouldn’t take it in the head of the Snowman, but just to do a u-turn is pretty standard for me so no biggie. 👍🏾

Great choice of color on the RG! My bike is that exact model...in the same metallic crimson! Did it whistle between 55 and 65 mph? Most of the RG's do between 55-65...been trying to find the source of it, no luck yet. Still love it more than the Ultra Limited I traded it on!
