Awesome goals! with some science fiction goals (for me:)! but you will definitely succeed! Instructive goals anyway, I also have to improve my flexibility a lot! I will try this year to improve my times only on 5k and 10k. On 5k I will try under 18 minutes and on 10k, under 38 minutes. Cheers!

Sound like some tough goals Ugz. I bet you will smash it mate. Looking forward to the training journey for this one mate. Top 5k at the end matey. The trail shoes I use are the wildhorse 6. I have the peg trail 2 but I haven't run in them yet.

Wow - great and impressive goals. At my peak 18-24 months ago I’d run 1k reps on the track and a good day was 4min/km and it killed me lol. Just shows how fast you are 💨

Thanks for sharing your 2021 goals, Ugur, and you'll smash them for sure! Running form and economy are foundational, and they'll help you improve your 5K and Marathon PB's. I've enjoyed using my Stryd footpod and focusing on biomechanics (we tend to over-focus on HR) such as form power, ground contact time, cadence, leg stiffness, vertical oscillation, etc. to improve my running economy.
@ugzruns4 жыл бұрын
Those are very valuable tips! Really should incorporate more of those metrics into my running as every detail counts 😅
@RunFreeandStrong4 жыл бұрын
@@ugzruns I've read some biomechanical and gait analysis of Kipchoge, and they have experts and labs to test and help them. Some of these tools and resources are available for us to improve.

Great effort. I’ve a few goals. 18 months ago I was 2 stone heavier and struggling for 24 mins. I managed a 20:41 park run in Jan 2020..... by the end I had a 38:04 10k, 83:34 half marathon and did the virtual london in 3:09:31. This year I plan to go under 2:50 marathon and 80mins half.... amongst others! Good luck!

That's amazing, more than 3-4 mins in the 5k is fantastic! Keep me updated on your journey, the trajectory is looking good with those times 👌🏽 thanks a lot, and good luck to you too! Keep at it Robert 👍🏽

@@ugzruns Cheers. I used to be fitter before so I was faster back in the day! I did 18:31 in the summer for 5k and looking for 17:xx in 2020.... will be reasonably competitive for an almost 47 year old I think. I'm following you on Strava.

How long you got??! I would obviously suggest for speed work on trails the hoka EVO jawz or Altra king mt 2, for medium 1-2 hrs run the Altra Timp 2 or the speedgoat 4 (wide for me), for super long days out : the Olympus ..... but obviously this is all very personal , for for good running form, nice ground contact and punchy cushion (with space for the toe and feet to move and swell) .. Altra Timp 2 (but for mega grip and tech stuff hoka EVO jawz or Altra king mt )
