I am genuinely amazed at how quickly the Aussie market has taken to the Saxdor brand. 12 months ago nobody had heard of them and today i struggle to hit Sydney Harbour without seeing one on the water!
They have succeeded in creating the hype and after my spin in moderate to large rolling swells coming into the harbour i believe they can back it up with excellent performance and choppy water handling.
REMEMBER - this is just a 20ft boat!! To be able to cut through the waves we were in and remain safe, dry, fast and having fun is what boating should be all about.
As an introduction to a new brand i think the Saxdor 200 is a clever product at an amazing price point that will just bring more and more people into the wonderful passtime that is boating!! The capability of this hull will make it appeal to numerous boaters both new and experienced.
Stick it on a trailer or keep it in the water the choice is yours. For the price of a cheap to moderate family car the you actually don't have any excuses not to go boating now!

Thanks Scot, yes i completely agree. It started way back with Wally, Fjord and XO but Axopar definitely brought it to the mass market and with Saxdor, Ryck, Nimbus T Series, Dromea and many, many more adventure boats coming to market this space is getting super fun and interesting!

I looked at a review of one of these a while ago and the thing that absolutely blew my mind was the price! £23,000 UK pounds brand new (or £30K for the 150BHP engine)!! If you're thinking about getting into boating but worried about cost then this is a game changer!!!! No more excuses just buy it!!!!! (plus you can also spec it with the foredeck sun pads that you can lift to turn into a sleeping area - brilliant!!

The larger engine doing less speed but at higher revs than the less powerful unit, can only suggest that either data is wrong, or that larger engine is severely underpropped -as it would ultimately top out at a lower speed than the 115hp when both at at max revs.

@@gaycha6589 I've watched other review with a 115hp where the test guy said 3000 rpms/25knots, so I went to Boat fuel economy website and got 12.4l Dan in the video said that with 150hp he gets 3500 rpms/23knots and when you check the aforementioned website you get 20.1l Mercury 115's weight is 162kg (359 pounds) Mercury 150's weight is 204 - 240 kg (450 - 530 pounds) Bigger motor, heavier boat and equipment, and maybe prop is unsuitable.

Such a cool boat. Once they adjust the seating on the aft where those 2 seats move back a bit, spin the helm chairs around and put in a removable dining table, that will completely transform this boat so you have a table seating area and the fore sun loungers. After that this would be a strong buy.

G'day Jeremy! Yes for this size and the boats capability i'm a real fan it's just cool! I have seen pics of the new seating option which looks practical but i've not seen this in person yet. I believe i'll get this opportunity later this year. However i would personally use this boat for transport between beaches and restaurants instead of lunching on the boat itself. It's so easy to use you could just use a stern anchor and chuck her on the beach to go for coffee. How cool would that be!

@@BoatLife_DansBoatLife Yep funny enough right after I watched your video I saw that Saxdor had released an aft dining table option for the 200! Would be great when you see it in person but looks pretty cool from the image I saw. I do think you could lunch nicely on the boat, specifically on calm lakes in the US where there may not be a lot of beaches to go up to and where on-the-water social life itself is a thing, such as shallow sandbars in South Florida. Then you can setup the fore deck sun loungers with the optional sunshade for a wonderful day out on the water...plus equipping it with the head expands usability. A really cool boat, similar of course to the Axopar 22 but the Axopar 22 pricing in the US is absolutely wacky. I'm not sure if it's a supply / demand thing but I'm seeing Axopar 22's going for approx $100K USD which is nuts considering what the boat retails for in Europe. Pricing still seems to make sense for the Saxdor 200.

Yes i believe it is! You can take a 3rd person plus lots of equipment compared to a jetski. I'm filming this at my home city Sydney, Australia.

How would this compare to the very similar Axopar 22?

Very similar. At this end of the market a lot of people are going to be considering what the bang for their buck is. The Saxdor is smaller and therefore it will have slightly less capabilities in terms of top speeds, carrying capacity etc. However the ride quality to 90% of boaters will be exactly the same. I can notice a difference but thats because i drive a lot of boats. If you can justify paying around double for the Axopar 22 and feel you have a great mission for the Axopar that justifies the cost then it will be the better boat. If you are looking for something that will do everything the Axopar will do but is slightly smaller and much cheaper then get the Saxdor. Build quality there is no difference between the brands so you are just comparing design and performance. Finally the only issue i observe with the Axoapr 22 when i see them on the harbour is the aft lounge seating. When this is loaded up with adults it moves the center of gravity aft and puts the boat off balance which on a smaller package like 22ft is very noticable. I saw this recently and commented that it was the only time i have ever been disappointed looking at an Axopar on the water. However if you load the boat correctly and keep the weight in the center it will perform great.
