You captured all the great parts of that race.I remember all of those spots and exactly what I was thinking about why I was doing it. I was waiting to see you pass me going the other way since I was one of the last to finish under time. Looks like you rode smooth. I’m headed back out for 2022. Can’t wait to do it again.

It is such a great course! You will really enjoy the variety of terrain and views it has at every turn.

This looks awesome, were you and the field generally using XC specific bukes or trail for this terrain?

Looks a lot like Whiskey 50 with double track at least
@Mountainpeakfitness Жыл бұрын
Yep, mostly double track. It is an out and back course, works well with the large field. Still a beautiful area and plenty technical with loose rock and some steep grades at times.

Beautifully scenery but no single track???
@Mountainpeakfitness3 жыл бұрын
A great race but no single track. It is still fun riding on the double track and dirt roads. Surprisingly technical!

Thanks for posting the VID...congrats on the ride. Question...was the Ripley V4 enough bike or would you have preferred more bike. I know weights a factor if biking up a bit...just wondering if the course beat you up on the Ripley.
@Mountainpeakfitness3 жыл бұрын
The Ibis Ripley was a solid choice with the 130mm front & 120mm rear travel. Joe could have went with a lighter and smaller travel bike because of his experience but this has been his bike of choice the last couple of years. With all of the great climbing, you wouldn't want anything more but at the end of the day, whatever bike you have, is a good choice.

Good day! May I ask you what bike did you use? How was it performing? Thank you!

Joe was riding the 2020 Ibis Ripley with 130mm & 120mm of travel. It performed great and other than general maintenance, swapping out brake pads, chain and tires, he just completed the Breck Epic 6 Day Stage Race on it without a hiccup.

These roads don't look ridable to me.
@Mountainpeakfitness3 жыл бұрын
They are surprisingly technical. Lots of fun and challenging sections that take you through some beautiful terrain.

@@Mountainpeakfitness I love the terrain, but I can't enjoy it if I'm going over basketball size boulders all the time... I have to look down the whole time... Thanks for the video!
