I can't wait for the Spring 2021 identification video! :) These are so fun.

Thanks for the prompt! I need to get back to it as I have a couple of videos where I have gathered lots of clips, but haven't set down to edit them into a video. Thanks as always for your interest and participation in the chat. It makes our community more interesting and fun when you participate!

I wish I saw this happening live during that back-to-back week of snowstorms (I should’ve figured that it snowed in Alabama like it did in Texas). Seeing all of the birds in the snow in real time must’ve been fun. Darn, but oh well. Anyway, thank you for sharing this! I hope I get to see another rare spell of snow where you live in real time again, but I’m excited for spring and what we’ll see then. 😊🐦

Thanks again @BrianaBird Davis for your continued support for the channel and I hope you guys did OK with that nasty snow storm in TX!

@@KenLittle Oh, I live in New Jersey, not Texas. But, thanks, anyway for being considerate. 😊 I have been thinking of moving to Texas or Florida, though. Hopefully, the cold snap in Texas is just an anomaly, because I hope to live somewhere where the winters are mild.

Hey there! I'm currently watching your live bird feed and am wondering how you keep the squirrels away!

Just want you to know I’ve been working at wild birds unlimited (schererville indiana) for awhile now and we’re supposed to play the feeder cam at Cornell (Ethica, NY) but I’ve been playing your live stream in our store the days I work because most of your backyard visitors we can technically get up here, but not a common occurrence. You get so many special guests that I look forward to ID-Ing in my Peterson guide and sharing your birds with my customers. It means the world to me that you take such good care of these guys and that you share your feeding with people like me, THANK YOU!!!

I am humbled by your kind words. Thanks for letting me know! If you ever want to dial up any of the bird ID videos that are below the stream, you can do that as well as it already has the birds names on it. However, you may have to switch it after 15 minutes. Right now I don't feel that I have my best foot forward with the current mix of feeders, which seems to lock out some birds. I'm trying to force the Pine Siskins to feed on the ground or migrate back up to Canada. They have been here nearly 110 days and as you know, they are aggressive flock feeders, somewhat like Starlings, but smaller. Anyway, thanks again and please subscribe and share the link as we try to grow our viewership.

Such a beautiful day! There was a pretty blue and brown bird drinking from the suspended water bowl (in the first half of the video) - what was it?
@KenLittle3 жыл бұрын
It was an Easter Bluebird. The males are more vividly blue than the female.

This was great, thanks for this. I am up in New York, but my cousin lives in Alabama. So this is cool to see what kind of birds she could potentially have at her feeders. Could I please ask, what do you have in your feeder that has the 4 sides with holes? I couldn't get anything to go in mine last year. I had dried mealworms.
@KenLittle3 жыл бұрын
I have a mix of sunflower hearts, safflower seed, probably some white miller and some sprinkle of dried mealworms. The secret is to have one window out for a period so they can know that it has food that he can eat. When the 2nd window goes in it, it means they have to work to figure it out. Some birds just won't go in a hole though

Love you videos but the music takes away from the natural ambiance.
@KenLittle3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comment and I suspected I would get a thumbs down from a few folks complaining about the music. I took great care to lower the level below the level of sound from the microphones. I could still hear the wing flaps and small sounds, so the video is honest to the natural sound. I guess I also risk that others don’t like the type of music played and I get that. I also use the music to more take away from the car sounds from the road behind the feeders as well as the fact that since I am in a small lot residential neighborhood, the environment is not noise pollution free as there are sounds from kids and dogs. Anyway, thanks for viewing and taking the time to comment!
