I bought this bike, thinking to myself "man I should bought something more higher end". Took it on some moderate/medium level trails with 800ft+ elevation gain. This thing rips. Climbs well, descends well, corners pretty darn good. Overall been enjoying it A LOT. I thought the Suntour XCM fork was going to be complete trash, but nope, I was surprised to find it pretty damn capable for entry-level. Now is the fork the best, obviously not, but its' still very good for a beginner. The very first and only upgrade right now are new flat pedals with spikes. These are a must for the added grip, as the stock ones are lacking on that end. I'm actually glad I didn't go with a Fuse or higher (although don't get me wrong, those are very nice bikes as well, parts, geometry and all), there was no need for my taste/preference at the moment. Down the road, I can even easily get a new fork, new tires, 1x conversion, dropper, etc. and transform this hardtail like crazy. Really great bike, no regrets at all.

I am attempting to get my first MTB. Lookong at the specialized rockhopper, GT Aggressor or the polygon xtrada 6. Size xl. To bad bikes are so hard to come by. Deciding if i should run a 2x or 1x crankset. It will see paved trails and pull a trailer for my twins. But want to be able to just go out and ride it on some real trails also.

I've have a blue rockhopper sport on order. It's now been on order since October 2020. Still no eta.... I ended up buying a GT aggressor pro and upgrading part by part. Kinda disappointed but it's understandable everyone is out of stock. I'd love to get my bike considering I've already spent the $750 on it.

@Jamesthebikeguy3 жыл бұрын
Why? Comprised geo/performance when that happens
@newenglandskier133 жыл бұрын
@@Jamesthebikeguy Then they should have kept the two different frames. If you want a 27.5 hardtail in size large from Specialized, your options are pretty limited.
@Jamesthebikeguy3 жыл бұрын
They are two entirely different frames already, the 27.5 and the 29 are not the same, so they have accomplished what you are saying. A XS 29er is very compromised just as a XL 27.5 is leaving something on the table. Then check out industry data and you will see vast majority of riders choose larger wheels. If money were to made with two bikes they would not have streamlined the choice like most other major brands have.

The xcm is not that good, but it will do for a while. Those brakes are terrible, I have them on my Kona. They brake less than my old v-brakes. You can stop with them, but when your bike doesnt go on your front wheel when you pull it hard, I consider that a bad performance...
