Thanks very much for putting this detailed, fantastic information. What is your weight and what size sail were you using with E foil on 8 knots for windfoiling? What is the lowest wind you could use S-type largest foil and what sailsize for windfoiling? Could you also have information like this for the race foils from Starboard?

Hi. Glad you're stoked on the video! I weigh about 180 lbs. I was using the Duotone Echo 7m Foil Wing and the 1700 E-Type wing and that saved me this summer with those really light wind days! The S-Type 2400 works in similar light winds and is a bit easier to get going initially. Excellent review. Do you plan a review of the starboard wingboards? Interested in the 5'8

Thanks Henry! Yes, we plan on doing a review of the wing boards we carry. So far we have been really impressed with the Starboard Wing Boards. Give us a call at the shop and ask for Jonathan. He's been testing all our wing gear and can talk over the 5'8 with you. (727)656-6569

Great video, thanks. Is not easy to move between a tons of options and settings. The ''monolithic'' mast sounds like a ''2001 Space Odyssey''. I guess the riders have visions in the ocean when they glide at 20 knots.

What would you recommend for beginner wingsurfer with foil experience in kite and wake - 65kg/5'8 I am thinking of using friends bigger board briefly and then using 85L myself to improve from there. riding in 15-25 knots. Probbaly buy a 5m wing? Would i need a two wing set up like 1700 and 1300? Or just a 1500? also, do the packages come with foils/mast/fuselage/quik lock system and do they come with protective bags?

Hey Ian, I would say starting on your friends beginner board will be a great move to get the hang of it at first. With your experience and your weight of 65KG, I wouldn't recommend getting anything bigger than 75L. Considering you'll be ridding in a windier location, you soon be able to use a neutral volume board around 65L, and you might find yourself quickly moving to a proper sinker. I wouldn't go any bigger than a 4m wing, and possibly consider something in the 3 range for the windier days. As far as foils go, a 1500 medium aspect or a 1300 high-aspect wing will be all you need. You may want to go bigger if you find yourself in lighter conditions, or smaller once you get better and are in stronger conditions. The foil packages will build one complete foil, simply choose a Wing Set and a Mast Set. The foil bags are sold separately. Let us know if you have more questions :)

Great stuff! So if I wanted to dock start and pump over to the Undertow, I should go with E-Type 1700 + 82cm Monolithic, right? :P

Yeah, but you might want the S-Type on the way back. :)

It really isn't clear; are these for windfoil (windsurf) setup or other?
