About An. If he needed that much time to beat the opponents that resulted in exhaustion and impacted his match against GEO guy, that's due to his ability not being able to finish the matches quick enough. GEO guy did go through the same number of rounds and he was able to finish quicker and that's also because of his ability.

An Changrim really got fucked by the bracket... Dammit I was hoping for the big showdown between An and Ono. But he was just way too depleted by the time he fought the Georgian judoka.

Agreed, the match between him and Fabio belonged in the later rounds

Seriously, in round 32, you have a World Champion going against an Olympic Gold Medalist. Like WTF! Ono had a easy bracket.

probably the deepest weight. travis was calling this one for about a year. does anyone notice that ono dead dives and no one cares?

He actually doesnt...you can clearly see the rotation in uchimata

@@saaamboh yes he does look at his ippon uchimatas at the olympic. he plants on his head and throws the opponent on his head in one of them

@@佐藤武志-q9l Agreed Ono definitely head dives(Illegal move: IJF Rules Section 27.b.32), but shame he never gets called for that. Those who disagree either don't know Judo or Ono fans. In this olympics, unseeded Ono had the easier path to finals while being on the other side of bracket avoiding Basile, Lasha, and An.

That armpit grip that Ono uses is like a cheat code or something. He can’t loose when he has that grip.
@AceInose3 жыл бұрын
Late master Koga used it same way Ono does. But Ono made it worldly known tactic. Though he has Right natural, Left armpit post, that often becomes double repel is just unbreakable with great distance control.

And for some reason referees never give him a shido for it. It's like Ono plays by different rules from everyone else.
