Great and well detailed review. I own this car and beyond the infotainment system, it really is a great daily, a lot of fun to drive city car. Had VW improved its interior against the 7.5, the Golf would be the best in its class by far, including against its more premium competitors. For anyone wondering, the best tyres for the car are the GoodYear F1 sport 235 18s; they force the car to stick on the road while cornering like magic.

Hi! Love your sharing about the Golf 8 ! However I m quiet worries about the hot weather in Far East with traffic Jams all the time. I mean in Hong King city with lots of cars and small roads. Also do you think this Golf transmission would be recommended? Automatic one! Thks 😅

Hi Man, thanks for the question. It's a common concern for the DSG variants, I think if you're going to be in heavy traffic a LOT of the time then it would be a concern - probably best to get a full hybrid. But in our experience it's quite reliable now, as long as you don't abuse it.

If enough people ask for it sure. But honestly you don't buy a Golf 1.5 for its accelerative power, especially in Singapore. So we choose to focus on liveability and daily usefulness
