2021 Volvo VNL760 seat modification

I hate the air ride on these new seats they sit way too high like you're sitting on a bar stool. I'm trying to track down the part number for the solid seat base and then I'm going to bandsaw about 2-3 in out of it to shorten and re-weld back together. Have thought about fabricating a hinge system so the entire base could be tilted back about 15° or so if desired.

This seat has a built in tilt feature. Seats are not really comfortable but all you needed to do was to pull a gray plastic half-handle above the seat slider bar and you could’ve tilted it back without any modifications.

Wrong. The seat was set up for short people. It would not tilt any higher.

@@blackericdenice well, I have the same seat and if I try to tilt it all the way I have to adjust the backrest forward because it hits the cabinets behind it. I do see you have that handle and tilt. Not sure why yours didn’t tilt as much as mine does, but who knows. At last you found the solution.

This seat is a total disaster! And those punks on assembly line left all rail bolts loose! And the way this seat designed, you can access only two back bolts. On one of them thread was busted. Proudly assambled in America!

You say your Company don’t want you showing their logo. I can almost bet they are going to be mad about you messing with the seat. I don’t blame you. Your the one that has to drive the truck. Have you tried any of the gel seat toppers?

If they spent as much money on my seat as they do on office chairs. There would not be a problem. I have a purple cushion. I don't like stuff moving between the seat and me. This idea work better.

My Volvo seats is beating me up. International has the best seat absorbing the impact of the road.

Why would switching the cushion help? The truck is new.

@@blackericdenice my truck has different seats. I don't know why, but passenger seat feels much better in my case. So I thought to switch, but didn't find how to take the cushion off.
