I have a 2020 MT07. I put taller final drive gears on it. That turned it into a great bike for longer rides and improved the mileage. I also put a full exhaust system on it. Big difference in the sound. Also a Corbin seat and small windscreen. I have done up to 400 miles in a day without feeling beat up. This bike can be anything you want it to be. @thangluongquang28263 жыл бұрын
@@ohanaross-roberts97 There are a couple of reasons. Firstly, we are poor(er). I know some people whose their bike is literally the only possession they have. They live and die on it. Secondly, it's quite unnecessary here. Our law forbid motorcycles from entering the highway, and speed limits outside of highways is 70km/h maximum, which means anything 110cc and above would suffice. Most people here ride to work, school on the daily, and they need something cheap, light and durable. They don't need fun. Bigger bikes are simply way too expensive and inefficient for the purpose. That is to say, there are people who ride big cc bikes, but they account for like 1% of bikes on the road and they are mostly already die hard motorcycle enthusiasts or police officers.
@thangluongquang28263 жыл бұрын
Oh, and especially in my country in order to legally ride anything bigger than 175cc, you'll need to have a special license called the A2 license. It's both harder and more expensive to acquire than the A1 license most people have. So even motorcycle fans sometimes choose smaller bikes just because they don't want to go through all that hassle.

Great review! I'd love an SP version of this. I don't want/need MT-09 power but I'd be willing to pay for better brakes/suspension. I also trust Yamaha reliability more than Aprilia (aka Tuono 660 as an alternative).
@sleeper.simulant73273 жыл бұрын
If you want better brakes and suspension just get the Honda CB650R. Real world cost, not MSRP, at my local dealers it’s only like $800-$1000 more then a MT07, and you get massive Nissin brakes, even bigger then MT09’s, Showa suspension, and a silky smooth inline 4 that packs 20 more hp then a MT07. Power wise it sits directly in between the MT07 (20 more then that) and MT09 (20 less then that), it’s just a nicer bike with a higher quality feel of fit and finish, and timeless styling. Yamaha builds a good engine, but then they put cheap components around it...

@@sleeper.simulant7327 No power wheelie fun on the CB though. The motor is all that really matters for street riding, everything else in this generation of bikes is another fancy accessory.
@sleeper.simulant73273 жыл бұрын
@@drewmoto732 yes, because doing a wheelie down the road is both safe and practical, and all that matters... I’m also sure the Honda could power wheelie just fine...

Just switched from a 1000 to a 2018. Definitely feels like less but I instantly felt like a better rider. Amazing bike. First mod even before exhaust would be STEERING DAMPENER.

Thank you for the review. Even though you've got the cross country champ as the number one daily rider, I still, very much, trust your opinion. The new mt07 is the bike I'm looking at for my next new purchase. Demo days don't give enough impression of a bike. And, for some reason, people want insane money for their used fz/mt 07's. As in, the same price as these updated models. Anywho, awesome review.

I have had a 2020 MT07 for about a year and a half, I love it, but i’m coming from older bikes with carbs, it’s comfortable and has torque on tap, wheelies like it was built for that, honestly the easiest bike to wheelie besides a dirt bike, but I haven’t ridden everything. to me it is.

I like that dash/key arrangement... different but that low profile dash looks sharp. Leaderboard is super subjective... but if it's about fun per dollar spent I can't argue with it's placement (can buy more than 3 of these for the price of one Streetfighter V4s, and then there's maintenance cost). Would I rather have a the SF or Street Triple - well yea - but if I'm no a tight budget I'm not going to lose sleep over buying this instead.

I think the mirrors are exactly the same as before. The MT07, 09 and 10 share the same mirrors. I guess because the handlebars are higher and wider made the mirrors taller and farther out. A plus in my book. Love the vid, love the bike.

Ahhh the struggles of riding, I hate those light sensors they never pick up the bike no matter what you do. The worst is when the car next to you stops too far and your trying to wave them forward but they don't realize, so it just seems like your a crazy dude on a motorcycle lol

Tenere is above for being able to go off-road, but in my opinion, 07 is more fun street bike for being more compact, lower, and will react to agile riding better. For me, 07 is the best ever. Great video. 👍

I got the Z650 last year over the MT07 to a large part because of the better dash and to me better styling. And gotta say, this new MT07 dash is still not on par. But fun bike, that's for sure.

Struggling to decide between the mt-07 and the KTM 890 Duke, for daily commuting. The Duke seems to have more power but the mt-07 looks like fun, and I enjoy the sound more, especially with a full exhaust. The KTM 890 sound doesn't do it for me, but I like the style of them. Tough decision. Any thoughts?
@thedude9024 Жыл бұрын
If you have the money, get the Duke R. MT07 is good all around but lacks the brakes and suspension of the KTM. Yamahas price point for the MT07 is it's strength.

I think a MT07 SP would make a lot of sense because it certainly would not take $3k to get the suspension and brakes up to snuff. Suspension valving, spring rate choices and fluid viscosity are no cost upgrades for the manufacturer. Parts bin brake upgrades would cost next to nothing. Then you would have an indisputable SV beater and a clearly better value then the Aprilia with next to no sacrifice on the performance side of things.
