You sir are the best, what tools did you used to unscrew the headlight housing and also for tightening the usb outlet holder?

Thanks for watching! The headlight housing screws were hex screws. The usb outlet holder is held together with Phillips head screws that would tighten through a nut underneath the bracket.

To be honest, the look has grown on me quite a bit. I added a “windshield” to it that I think really completed the look. I actually prefer it now over the squinty look of the 2nd gen. But beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. Happy you are liking your bike!!

Hey Bud, great video and covered all requirements for this install. Can I ask if the link you provided for ebay included everything in your video (excluding tools)? Example: fuse box included with purchase?

Thanks! And yes, the EBay link in the description had everything I used in the install except for the tools (screw drivers, wrench, etc) and electrical tape. The in-line fuse box was included with the purchase and already installed in the wire harness

I would assume so. I’m not aware of any changes that Yamaha made between 21 and 22 that would’ve affected this

Is there enough free play in the cable once you move the bar left?

Yes there definitely is. The entire headlight assembly moves with the handlebars, so as you turn, the headlight assembly all turns with it. There is no additional strain on the wire harness at all when turning.

@@marco18brion ah that's right! I've not even seen one of these in real life yet. I've tried the gen 2 and hoping to pick up a gen 3 in March so your video helps with the USB install 👍🏻

@@peanutsarehairy I picked mine up only a month and a half ago. Unfortunately I live in the Northern Midwest of the US so mine will likely be put away until the Spring. I highly recommend the bike though! Only 350 miles put on it so far but it is so much fun to ride

Not 100% sure what you mean by just the plug, but if you look up a Yamaha plug and play auxiliary adaptor, that should be what you need to connect to the auxiliary port under the headlight cover

I purchased the same device and installed it but it isn’t working. Do you think it’s possible due to a check engine light on the bike since I just got it flashed?

Oh weird. Sorry to hear that. I just had mine reflashed for the ECU recall but I haven’t tried charging my phone again yet. I’ll have to give it a try

@@marco18brion yeah, I’m not sure if it has anything to do with it but I installed the exact same one and it does not work :( I replaced the fuse as well. Not really sure what to do.
