I added English subtitle. Also Russian, French, Spanish, and Chinese subs are available. If you have any other requests, I'll do my best to assist.

@@温泉旅館ゆもと Thanks for the answer. I asked for Russian subtitles to be added to understand what these traditions are about. Is it evil spirits that scare children, and parents protect them? What is the point of tradition?

@@emi-uq8kb Thanks for your comment. Actually, Namahage isn't evil one nor spiritual one. As you wrote in a comment, they scare children and parents protect them. That's true. However, They come to warn lazy minds whether they are adults or children. Therefore, when parents protect their children from Namahage, they will say to namahage that "we will change our children's lazy minds to become good by the time you come next year."

Point of this tradition is not only parents protect their children, but also that children respect their parents.
those 2 kids holding eachother behind the corner are in the eye of the storm 😂😂

Thanks for your comment. Hardly any kids these days are scared of Namahage. So for the Namahage, kids who get scared like this are really precious.

Much appreciate your kind comment. I look forward to you and your friends being able to see this event in person someday.
Thank you for your comment. In fact, for years there has been an opinion that this is abuse. It's up to you how you feel about "namahage", but I wish everyone would be a little more tolerant of traditional culture.
