I want to say I had a pair of Solomons ultras a few years ago that come with something like the trail blazer insole. I recently bought another pair of Solomon ultra but apparently, they made a new less padded also cheaper version. now I'm looking into these.

I get you. The shoes with decent inserts should help protect your feet. The insoles are similar to what I have in a pair of trail shoes. The firmness of them really helps on rocky trails. Stretching is important too. What are 'the Rangers' ?

@@KAFKUBA Also, eat more. Definitely you should have breakfast, second breakfast snacks, lunch, more snacks, and a substantial dinner. You maybe prefer to get the miles in without too many stops but eat snacks on the move, and stop 20-30 minutes for lunch.

You said no more videos unless positive, think you nailed that one LOL shoe thought was a good idea, Iike my superfeet same ones you got. I am glad you are regrouping. Still the funniest one posting video on the AT. FOOD thinking you should be eating it, can't keep losing weight like that, BLOOD PRESSURE sounds good to me exercise and fresh air, not losing weight, when you are platinum blazing LOL you don't need that much food. Seriously man eat eat and eat while on the trail, even if you don't feel like it. You rocking this man looking forward to seeing you in NY. Keep on keeping on 🚶🚶✌️✌️ Ps thanks for mentioning my name, really meant a lot. ✌️

Thanks for all of your videos. I don't post often but I enjoy following your adventure. Your attitude is probably close to what mine would be. I would grumble and gripe all the time, but secretly I would be having the time of my life I think. Keep it up, don't give up. I believe in you. The machine said your BP was high because they are programmed to read any diastolic reading over 80 as "HIGH". I think the systolic reads high over 120? Maybe 129? Anyway good luck and I hope you stay with it, but if the right choose for you is to stop then so be it. You have to take care of you first and foremost.

This isn't a race, take all the time you need both mentally and physically, I remind Greg that pretty often. Lack of vitamin D (sun) always drags you down and can put you in a funk. Hoping the weather pushes through and you're back on trail soon and with some pep in your step. Definitely eat more, keep replenishing those calories while you are hiking. Snack, snack and snack some more! You got this! Keep trekking!!

@@KAFKUBA taking it and feeling/seeing it are two totally different things. Living in CO it’s damn near sunny every day. Boy on the days it isn’t everyone is sluggish and lacking motivation. How did you get on with the Superfeet insoles in the wide Altra toe box??
@KAFKUBA2 жыл бұрын
There was one part of my toe box that the insoles didn’t cover in the very corner above my big toe, but it was minor and my toes are inside the insole and shouldn't be an issue.

Hey Words! Sorry not sorry about the lengthy comments. Yeah I tend to say to much when I’m inspired, but I’d rather be inspired and verbose than dead and silent. The super feet will 100% change your hiking game. They are a great insole, and hopefully work out for you. Hoka makes a great shoe too, but trust your gut and change when and if you are ready to. Don’t feel bad about sending back gear, you can always get it back if you need or want it. Timing might actually work out to have you pick up some of that cool weather gear from your family even. So you don’t run out of food because you don’t eat enough. Your weight loss proves that. I know it’s a legit fear to run out of food, but that’s pretty hard to do on the AT. For me, I put my days calories in a big zip lock and make sure that I empty the bag daily. Yeah sometimes I have a 2500 calorie dinner because I didn’t eat enough during the day, but I know I can’t function if I don’t have fuel. My typical day is 600cal for breakfast, 800cal for lunch, and 1000cal for dinner, with 1000 cal of snacks during the day. That’s for a 15-25 mile day. Weight wise that’s about 1.75-2 lbs a day. I’m not sure how you figure out your nutrition now, but I know you need more calories. It seems like you are carrying it, so live it up and eat it! Thanks for the great zero day video. I hope you didn’t catch anything in that pool! 🙏 Thanks for bringing us along today. I hope tomorrow’s miles are kind. Keep truckin’ and be well. -Grateful

@@KAFKUBA dude, I know you weren’t complaining! Trust us, we have heard enough of your whining to know when you are actually complaining. I hope you find a few words/phrases that are helpful every now and again. That makes it all worth it. I know it’s hard to eat, but you have to man. Especially when it gets hot. I never want to eat when I’m hot, so my performance suffers. I hope you can figure out a system that works for you before the heat of summer. At least you have the food to eat with you, needing food and not having it is a must harder situation to over come. Be well my friend, and stay strong. You got this!

I had fallen a few videos behind during my work week. I am continuing to be very jealous of you. Keep doing what you're doing. I should retire and do what you're doing. It would be great to get a few sponsors for about $50,000 a year, paying me to hike. That would be an awesome retirement gig! I have about the same attitude, where I'd likely complain about a lot of stuff, but that's what would keep me moving. If you need anything as you move into MD, please let me know. I am close to the AT there.
