2022 was a crazy year especially for girl groups. Le SSERAFIM New Jeans Kep1er CSR Fifty Fifty all debut this year and ofc all the fierce comebacks from the other girl groups not to mention the amount of awards that have been won by girl groups within the year. We saw a lot of former members from izone make a return wether as a soloist like YENA or within a group like Le SSERAFIM. Also a lot of girl groups such as Red Velvet Twice and now Dreamcatcher have renewed their contracts meaning we will see more of them and I am excited. Simply put girl groups have been KILLING it.

@@Ha-young_is_Just_Too_Fine While they are Japanese (as is half of Twice) they are produced by a Kpop star (who is Korean/Japanese), they sing in English and they relocated to Seoul to focus on that market ,so are just as Kpop as K/DA for example. Technically though they are spawning a new genre- Apop (Asian-pop) and as artists from also Thailand, China, Taiwan and even some South American are converging into that scene I would consider that the next eveolution-5th Gen! (Neverland and Fearnot at heart myself).
