Thats a really good review. I have to agree on every point you have mentioned in regards to the 5 dislikes. For the life of me, I don't understand why Audi designed a terrible rear bumper and that fake front air vent.

You can order alcantara wheel if you don't order an whatever-edition. Round or flat bottom wheel with alcantara and even red or green stitching is no problem that way :)

They’re open from either pushing that button twice to get RS performance , or they’re open in dynamic mode on the drive select button

What happened to the days when you could spec extra options on top of the trim level you selected. The only option the Vorsprung has got in its favour above the Carbon black (for my preference, ceramic discs don't float my boat ) is a sunroof. The carbon black you can spec a round steering wheel above a flat bottom one (don't know why you would). Manufacturers stop palming your crap fixed trim levels off on the public. Just have a base model and let the public add the options.

I don't think that we in germany have that editions. We can spec every extra option we want. Round or flat bottom wheel in leather or alcantara, with black, red or green stitching? No problem. Only the carbon spoiler or also carbon mirror covers+carbon side skirts? Also no Problem. Seems like the configurator from germany to GB has many differences.

It works for about 20 seconds before you need to touch the wheel but it will driver around corners if it can track the lane

Just like the previous 8v gen, have lane assist in mine and it has a flat bottomed steering wheel. I heard the new rs3 had to had a round steering wheel if it has lane assist due to new eu regs

@@royalstevep68 the lane assist isn't the problem, you can get a flat bottom wheel (even alcantara) + lane assist in the new rs 3 too but you need to change to the round steering wheel if you want the adaptive driving assistant, this is like a light version of the autopilot. Nothing we need in an RS 3 😉

The black plastic around the gear selector really does my head in! Purely for the fact that the people designing these cars clearly don’t have any idea about any other cars on the market apart from the one they’re designing. The Tesla model 3 made this mistake way back in 2017 which has now been rectified. Mercedes guilty also - same mistake in their new C class. The designers ought to watch reviews like these to gain some intel about what they’re doing wrong. Woeful!

Damn, 5000 pounds for ceramic brakes? I have a deposit down on one in the states, but haven’t selected options yet because it’s not available. I won’t be going for ceramics though. That’s too damn much. Plus, I have them on my current car and they seem to randomly squeak a lot Congrats though. I’m gonna go with black, but that gray would be my 2nd choice. It’s a great color

Those carbon ceramics are honestly just a huge money grab from Audi, you kind of made a 5000$ mistake with that option. The carbon ceramics have been an issue for many people in the last 4-5 years whether its in the TTRS, RS7, RS3 etc., the only real advantage they have over steel is that 1. theres less brake dust if youre tracking the car, and 2. theyre lighter and 3. theyre SUPPOSED to last longer. The only problem is for most people, only #1 was true. People have had their ceramics overheat after a single day at the track even though they followed every single thing Audi said about breaking them in and tracking them. Theyd have the glue between the pads melt, and sometimes also have the wiring harness melt that run through there for monitoring your brake performance. Apparently the issue is that theres little to no airflow available to the brakes to cool them down, there are some modifications people have made so that the brakes can get better airflow but most people end up just replacing them with a big steel brake, the only real advantage the carbon ceramics give is being slightly lighter tbh.

I decided to keep my old one. Didnt like the colour options so I'd need to go exclusive, cost to change was about £20k , not worth it. However that daytona grey is one I did consider and its definitely the best stock colour. Not sure about the rear honeycomb, but its the interior I don't like, seems cheap and a scratch fingerprint magnet , as for the round steering wheel, what a joke
