I ride an 300RR and I got a Xtrainer for my wife. The XT is very under rated. It excels in technical terrain. Super light. Same motor as my bike but piped different like Jimmy said. It is the best handling, easiest to ride bike I’ve ever ridden. But.. if you ride fast and aggressive the suspension will be too soft. But that’s what makes it so good in the slow stuff.

Yep I'm in my mid-40s and have noticed that I'm leaving my CRF 450x in the garage and taking the old xr250 more often these days I think this bike will be a perfect single track weapon for my out of shape ass

I think this is the best bike on the market for hard enduro, like, going 1 to 5 mph in big rocks. The suspension is just fine, love it actually. I want my suspension soft when doing hard enduro. The pipe costs nothing to replace snd then you got a formidable better sized enduro weapon. This is a phenomenal enduro bike for expert level riders.

great video guys.. I've been listening to your podcast on Spotify every time i drive the truck, and wrench on my bikes. Good info there, Jimmy is obviously very experienced and knowledgeable. I have a 17 yz250f that I'm making more off-road/trail friendly. Had a 19 yz250x but the quickness of the throttle response made me go back to the familiarity of a 4 stroke. I couldnt log hop nearly as easily as with my 4strokes. Sooo I was considering the Xtrainer. Thanks for all the info fellas.

Put a SmartCarb on mine. Made a huge difference. Even more power and didn't leak fuel like it did with stock carburetor.

Great video guys! Already looking forward to future insights on this bike. In one of your your future videos I'd love to hear your thoughts on the XTrainer vs. the 200RR for someone who likes 2T bikes for single track.

I second that!....my son is in the same age group.

It really depends on speed and skill level. The higher of either and the more a rider will like the 200. Unless the rider is small or the preferred riding borders on extreme enduro.

Good video. I'm still breaking in my X Trainer but have a few comments. I love the low seat height and overall styling. The suspension is good enough for me and so is the power. Also like the light weight. But my bone with Beta is having them lighted, a horn, wired for signals, etc., but the short gearing. I need to ride to the closest trails and being ready for the street was a big selling point. Still it's tough to get such a bike plated in WI, though I managed. The problem is having it legal, but I'm in 3rd gear by the end of my block! Of course the knobbies and unbalanced wheels don't help. I guess my point is that if Beta is going to make these "streetable", then I'd like to see taller gearing and less aggressive tires. This winter I plan to go a tooth bigger in front, and balance the wheels and/or get better tires. But, given the intent of being more of a dirt bike, I think it's great.

After riding big bikes for many years I've admitted to myself I don't really need a race bike for enduro trail riding, I'm using 1st 2nd or 3rd gear most of the time. for slow rocky root filled trails I could sit a little lower.

Jimmy i would like to point out a correction on the reserve level on the BETA. I have a 200RR and it has to be on reserve at half the tank. It literally comes on and i have over a gallon of fuel left. Mostly i ride on reserve from the beginning due to this. I'm used to MX bikes so im careful about watching my range though. Could be a float level partially though too, my tank (RR slight bigger tank and my smaller CC) will do a good 40+ avg before the reserve. Be nice if BETA did correct it though on the high reserve
@captainwin63332 жыл бұрын
Watched another review and he got 59 miles without seeing the reserve light come on.

I own one and average about 30 miles before reserve and it’s not like I’m riding it crazy either

Great review guys. I am looking for a pure easy riding play bike. The X trainer sounds like the perfect play bike however many reviewers have noted the the twitchiness as the speed builds. That issue being not too confidence inspiring. Is there anyway of overcoming that? Otherwise what would be a similar pick out of the euro 300's would U think? TM, sherco, Reiju?

To me, this is a perfect eastern single track bike for just about anyone if the suspension is set up properly.

Ppl underestimate the XT, they assume it’s a beginner bike or whatever but in my opinion if ur woods riding and doing more idling or low rpm stuff it’s fantastic and it will still open up and run like a scolded dog.

The 15 mpg is a show stopper. Let us know if your carb float helped.
@cban7740oz2 жыл бұрын
These puke fuel stock. Proper float height and looping the overflow increases MPG quite a bit. However, it’s still a small tank.
@UltraSS-nj8kd2 жыл бұрын
No they have a very early reserve

These are rad, but the suspension is a big let down. The Rieju ranger 200/300 are much better, not sure why they aren’t getting love from the same crowd that loves the Xtrainer.
@woodsrider1172 жыл бұрын
Ranger estart isn’t a good design and the ranger is the same height as the Beta rr. It’s not this low.
@grantbowen50472 жыл бұрын
I agree about the bike and suspension. The shock is fine but the fork sucks. I believe the Rieju is much heavier which is the best part about the Xtrainer.
@spscorse2 жыл бұрын
Thinking of the Rieju ranger myself I am 6 ft so I don’t really need the low seat height of the XT but going to try them both out thanks for the video

@@grantbowen5047 can`t fault my 2022 xtrainer suspension and much prefer it over 2019 GG ec300 kyb 47mm dual chamber forks and all that.. maybe earlier trainers had too light fork oil in them.

Hopefully it goes further than 30 miles on a tank. If not it’s not much more than a play bike that can’t leave the yard.

My wife goes 50 miles on the stock tank with the float adjusted but the mileage is still poor. Hopefully we can fix that with a pipe and jetting.
@captainamerica93532 жыл бұрын
My 2022 gets almost 80 miles on a tank. But they are short-geared like most Enduro's which eats gas.

Bring back the FreeRide!
@grantbowen50472 жыл бұрын
I had the FreeRide 250r and Xtrainer. The freeride felt great but had a lot of cheap parts, the fork sucked, the brakes sucked and the starter system sucked. No kick start available. I sold it because I replaced the starter/bendix 3 times in a year. The Xtrainer has much more robust components. Only problem is the fork but evidently AMP suspension can fix that. Just my thoughts on both. We ride very technical and slow, hard enduro type trails all the time and don't really shift out of 3rd.

The bike is shit if you’ve ever rode motocross . Small ass gas tank , the bar between the plastics smashes your knees , and power is so bad for a 300 same with suspension it suuuucks . Buy a husky
@mikeob64102 жыл бұрын
It's not meant to be a motocross bike. Tight single track is where it shines. Love mine.
@clashclans52382 жыл бұрын
Yeah I get that it’s an enduro bike but that bar that smashes your knees makes it sooo baaad . You cant tell me it doesn’t hurt your knees .
