2022 BMW 430i X-Drive: TEST DRIVE+FULL REVIEW

I own this car. Two tips - 1) If you live a warm climate ( I live in Texas ). You do not need X-drive. With performance tires ( I have these same wheels ) , I have no issues with grip. X drive on this model would be for hard winter areas. 2) On the grill, get the Sport line with Extended shadowline grill like this car.. I live in a state with front license plate and it breaks it up. You have to get the blacked out front grill. I love this car. It is quick enough but not super fast. The 4 cylinder sounds great but takes revs to get going. I will probably get the M440i when my lease is up. Very solid and with the top up, it is coupe quiet. PS Portimao blue with cognac interior is a killer combo on this car.

How was the noise with top down? Thanks for the tip - I'm in NM & not too worried about hard winters

@@edwardpaulsgrove3336 The sound is pleasant for a 4 cyl. The inline 6 440i sounds a lot better. This is not a loud car with the top down.

Still can’t get used to the new grill design. Kinda like buying 2 large grills with an attached car. Wish there was an option for heritage style grills.

Just got my custom build in January, out of Little Rock, and I love it! Did not get the X drive, but driving in the snow in the mountains, wish I would have. It'll be just fine for around here though. Nice feature: hold the unlock button on the key fob will take the top down. Also, touch less trunk entry with fob nearby. Plenty of get up and go and very smooth ride. Hurry up, warm weather, can't wait to drive with the top down!

Nice car! Love the headlights design but still on the fence with the kidney grill design. It’s starting to grow on me a bit though.

It’s starting to grow on me too! The m sport package definitely helps with the black trim around the grill but without the m sport package it’s still a bit iffy to me.

I like the car very much especially the Brooklyn gray color and black trim. But the car makes a whistling noise precisely at speeds 23-25, 38-39, and 48 mph which is quite noticeable and annoying. Has anyone experienced this? My BMW dealer hears it too but are stumped and cannot eliminate it.

Another dealer fixed the noise problem. The original driveshaft was in harmonics at the specific speed range. The driveshaft was replaced by one of a new design from BMW and it does not resonate. Problem eliminated.
