M3 has always been the more aggressive looking version. I honestly don’t like how the m4 has been styled, especially the rear end… it’s just weird.

I do prefer the M3, it looks better proportioned to me and a lot more aggressive. It's rear is definitely the better of the 2 aswell. That said the M4 is a great looking car in its own right, the side profile reminds me of an American muscle car.

1:52 min / the hips are not wider. It just appears like it because the M3 has just less space to get to the same rear position because the back doors. This reduces the space of the area of surface transition. If you check the M4 you can see the back has much more space to get to the same position and therefore the surface transition is much smoother and less ageressive but the width ist practically the same.

Had a 2 door and won't ever again. Everytime I closed the door, rear passanger needed to get out, when I let them out and jump back into the car, they're back and I need to jump out again to let them in. When I take off they can't stand the large open drivers window that channels the air directly to their face. Good old days.

M3 over the M4 for sure, it just looks way better to me and reminds me, size wise, of the old M5s. They are almost identical in size and weight to the E39 M5.

Big fan of coupes because they look more sportier and never liked 4 door cars but lack of the wide hips of g82 m4 makes me belive that g80 m3 looks more aggresive and sportier due to wide arches. For me wide arches were always visual signature of m vs non m cars. Big disappointment for me when it comes to g82 fenders design, not big difference in arches with m440

Both cars are the same wide, the M3 rear from the roof down needs to start a narrower distance from the centre line because to have to create a rear door. The M4 is lower by about 20mm.

this video is kinda weak man...first you compare completely diff specs. one has cosmetics meaning a carbon fiber front lip and carbon duck bill, one doesn't then you talk about how much wider the m4 is which its not. They are the same width and length. Also the same wheel base....The reason it looks that way is because Bmw cheaped out and used 340 doors on the M3 making that quarter panels not so easy on the eyes lmao. No mention of the weight differrence, no mention of the aero and roof line being 1" lower or the diff in weight distribution between the two cars. I have owned 2 g80s and now thinking about a g82 and this video didn't help me decide at all lmao.

It should have been different on the front, this is so stupid that the fronts are the same. The side air vents are fake witch is terrible! If you look the history of the m3 it should have been more special than the m4, remeber the m3 is the boss on the streets, because a lot of records behind.

The M3 and M4 do not drive the same. The M4 drives like more of a GT car whereas the M3 is a better handling car. They both weigh nearly the same and are the same size within a few mm in length, except the seating position of the driver's seat is different. The M3 handles like a smaller 4 door and the M4 handles like a larger 2 door. I went with the M3 on my F80 just for driving dynamics, perfectly balanced.

This anecdote is completely false, they have IDENTICAL components inside and out, and tuned identically. They drive the same, and if anything, the coupe has higher rigidity relative to the sedan.

The M3 rear is a half an inch wider total (so about a quarter inch each side. The rear hips start higher on the M4 and thats why it visually looks skinnier than the m3.
