Good evening guys, and welcome back to Car Obsession. It's been a while since a Friday upload, hasn't it? This is in place of the Wednesday upload that didn't take place due to lack of time to edit. Anyway, housekeeping aside, I do hope you enjoy my first drive review of the new BMW M240i, it's a car I've been waiting to drive for some time!

Any jiggling I suspect is from those Michelin pilot tyres, pet hate of mine,Pirelli p zeros usually transform the ride,noise and feel imo

I personally prefer Michelin over Pirelli if I'm going to be honest. Thanks for watching.

I remember when you first drove the previous M240i (I still have that video saved) and you were completely blown away "it's a naughty noise" always makes me laugh. Your response to this one is rather more muted. Anyway, I paid £29k for my M240i when it was new in 2017 and I still love it. Five years and 36k miles in, it still drives like a dream and literally nothing has gone wrong. I intend to keep it for at least another three years and when I change there is a very good chance that i will get another 2 series coupe. However, after spending £29k for a brand new one in 2017 I do not see me spending £45k now. I may have to get a 230i or 220i.

Hi Steven, thanks for watching, and thanks for following me for so long! I'd say theain reasons for me being a bit more muted are A) I had the new one for less time and B) when I drove the old one I hadn't driven many fast cars at that point so that blew me away more as I didn't really have much to compare it to. Since then I've been lucky enough to drive a fair few performance cars so I've got more experience with those kind of cars.

@@CarObsession Yes, now that I have owned a 335hp car I do not feel I have anywhere else to go so I may as well down power. I'll be sixty by the time I next change car so probably need to age with a bit more dignity. I will miss that surge though. At least I have three more years to enjoy it - hopefully.

The base 230i coupe is great and starts at $36k. No need to get too many options. Performance is excellent right out of the box with standard engine and brakes. The closer to $36 the better! Mine was $39k

Since you mentioned Joe Achilles on steering, would you do a collab with him if time allows... As for the car definitely looks good without that Lord snooty nose from the 4 series.
@CarObsession2 жыл бұрын
I've known Joe for a few years and he's a great guy, but he's also a very busy guy as well. Given the chance, I'd love to collab with him, but getting the right opportunity to do so will be difficult. Thanks for watching pal.
