I bought one last year, I upgraded from 2016 s1000,great bike , it handles well,plenty of grunt now the restrictor has been removed, 165hp is more than enough for a naked.

To deactivate Cruise control you can roll the throttle off an exert a little force and it works in a more gentle way.

What an awesome insight into the specs of a motorbike. Not enough content like this on KZbin, and all I can say as I’m currently looking into which bike I’m going to part money for that you’ve sold me on this one. I think if BMW watch this then you should receive some funds from them as this bike is now at the top of my list as it has more than enough power and torque that anyone could possibly use safely and legally on the roads and with the “show and tell” part of the features I’m sold. Thank you very much as I’ll be visiting my nearest BMW motorbike dealership on the weekend to place an order. Looking forward to to seeing how the mods develop as I’ll be doing the same. Good Video bud, The cruise control can also be switched off by twisting the throttle away from you. My dealer didnt tell me this either and i find it much better for switching the cruise control off and a lot less jerky!

One of the best mods that should be standard is the aesthetically pleasing windscreen which gives you wind protection up to the helmet level. Looking forward to seeing how your exhaust mods work out.

Lovely bike , only thing 8 don’t like about the s1000r is the tail , brake light system . I’ve followed a couple now and it is hard to spot the indicator Is there a tail tidy aftermarket available? Subbed 😁👍🏼

Mine’s same spec and color. I fitted a Pro-Race SP-1 Shorty Black Titanium. It’s made a fabulous difference to the tone of the exhaust note. Changing the headers and tuning I suppose will invalidate the warranty……

I have a 2020 street triple rs…the same bike that you had….the bmw out performs the street triple virtually everywhere…..it just lacks a key ingredient….soul…it’s dull and bland… soz but i reckon you’ll trade within a year…just saying it like I see it… but good luck, it’s a top notch ride 👍👍👍

I had a street triple and found it lacking soul and power. Only strength was its brakes. I switched to an S1000R and never ever regretted it.

AL Rampage you’re right there but the reason I made the comparison between the bmw and the street triple is because Bikes of Rye traded his street triple for the BMW….cheers 👍

It's a brilliant chassis on this bike, compared to the triumph though. I reckon with the engine uncorked it'll be a much more engaging engine.

I just don’t get these “dull”, “blend”, “has no character”, “has no soul” statements everyone seems to be regurgitating… just because it doesn’t wake up the entire neighbourhood or is not entirely out of control.. they all have them. They are all characters... some ugly, some not, some uncomfortable, some a joy to ride.

Nice bike, I have the F900R sport, it's got almost exactly the same spec, mine has self cancel indicators? I bet yours does too, I done 1800 miles before I realised 🤪

Be interesting how loud it'll be with the headers on the bike (I'll do mine next year). I'll be running mine with the official akra end can. I've just ordered the genuine baffle for it from BMW too, as it's likely to be quite loud (and will give me options).

I will get a full on comparison video of the sound for you. I believe the sound is dramatically different. Keep in mind you lose the exhaust valve and when you tune the bike you can have the airbox valves always open below 6k rpm. It's a combination of it all should sound great 👍🏼

@@BikesofRye I hope you don't lose the low to midrange punch in favour of moving power up the range...loads did that with old model and regretted it. It seems inconceivable to a lot of folks that maybe the manufacturer has the bike at the sweet spot for road use. I'll follow with interest

Odd that you need to use the key for the fuel cap... My 2019 GS Adventure has BMW Keyless, and has a keyless fuel cap (and it's been faultless so far) so not sure why they've changed it for the S1000R...

This is such a terrible review. I’d argue it’s the worst ever, specifically from an owner. We can get features and specs from anyone. Basically there is no difference between your review and Google. What we can’t get, or at least is fair;t limited on YT and generally online, is your personal opinion of riding and owning it and how it makes you feel. You buried the lead and complete;y missed the point and value of an owner’s review. Smarten up.
