2022 BMW X5 Review | One MAJOR Change

BMW X5 xdrive40i is now my sixth BMW. Love these rides and this one is the very best so far.

Just brought home a 2022 x5 40I premium with a few extra goodies. One bad ass car !! I've had all types of cars, other BMWs, MB, Lincoln, caddy, ect. This suv is the bomb!! Very pleased! It was a choice between the x5 and the Porsche Mecan. BMW offered a much better deal. BMW was 1000 over list, Porsche was 3000 over list with no maintenance. A no brainer. Next car.......Aston Marten !!😁

🤦🏻‍♂️ When people buy a “luxury” brand, they don’t buy just the regular trim. Mid trim or fully loaded is usually what people buy.

Not a wireless phone charger. It’s NFC only for MY22. As of a couple weeks ago, the touchscreen is even gone too. Getting rough out there.

Most 2022 x5 45e's are without touchscreen due to the global chip shortage, its a big bummer, You are lucky yours has it.

This guy did a very poor review. He missed quite a few important changes or rather lack of features for 2022. Instead he is stating stupid obvious things like Auto Headlight, powered mirrors etc, seriously 😐? Let me list a few for you as an actual 2022 owner. 1. No Fog lamps at any trim level 2. No heated and cooled cup holders in the center console 3. No B&W audio system in options to choose. 4. For 2023 Sensatec is gone replaced with Sensafin. No more Vernasca leather option too. 5. No volume knob crystal if you chose the glass package, yes they couldn’t find supply for a $15 item! 6. Wireless charging is available again now but was missing from the options for a while 7. Availability of the HK audio system is a lottery, sometimes available in the configurator, sometimes not. There could be a few more, but these are major ones.

Great overview! What happened to the cooled/heated cupholders? I mistaken=dly assumed my 2022 M50i would have them, but it didn't. My dealership's genius and BMWUSA haven't any idea why this accessory was eliminated, nor about possible retrofits.

Heat cool cup is only available in the M model and have to choose the executive package. And if you choose M, you do not have glass control. If you get the standard x5 40i, it won’t have the heated cool cup. They also took away the integral steering, luggage package and ability to add air suspension without third row seat in all model x5

@@wucao4691 Actually , heated/ cooled cupholders are not available on ANY 2022 X5 . I purchased a 2022 M50i a few months ago , and was a little disappointed to find this out. Also deleted for the entire 2022 X5 line were soft close front doors , as well as fog lights...would like to have had both of those features. Minor issues , as far as the car goes...really. And the Touch Screen feature was returned to the 2022 models, going forward with the builds in the 2022 calendar year. Mine does have that feature enabled. My first BMW, and by far the most awesome vehicle I've ever owned.

The back seat still don’t recline enough Hyundai and Nissan mid size suv back seat recline to a far degree. Imagine a more expensive luxury suv don’t Who buys an suv to feel cramped like they are sitting in a car Big ole body for no reason ..!!! All they ramble about is trunk space .

I would assume you'd be going for an XC90 , then... Better do some research on that one. Consumer Reports said , of the 2022 BMW X5 ...." One of the best vehicles we've ever tested " . They gave it an overall score of 90 ( on a 100 scale ). This was higher than ANY of models built by Mercedes , Lexus , Audi , or Infinity. And..... About the 2022 XC90... They said the 4 Cylinder Turbo/ Super Charged engine ( and still only 316 hp ! ) sounded " raspy " and delivered only " decent punch ". Predicted reliability of the XC90 was also " much worse than average ". Overall score for the Volvo...was a 56 . So you go right ahead with that Volvo purchase...And may I say ... Good luck to you , sir ! Sometimes the old " You get what you pay for " adage does indeed prove true . I will go on looking forward to every drive I make in my M50i...!!
