@@DrDanTDC I’ve never rode Montana what’s the terrain like? I truly think the Can-Am is a way better machine decides to VISCO lock. So if you need a machine for rock, climbing the Polaris has the one up, you can install a halo locker in the defender giving you the perfect machine. The defender interior is so much nicer. Which I’ve not seen much you can do to better the rangers.

What a fantastic comparison! Basically sold me on the defender as my next family rig. I apologize if I missed it in one of your other videos but does the cam am have a noticeably tighter turning radius? I remember seeing a video a few years back about how the defender has a turning radius setup similar to a tractor and it beat out the ranger by like 3 feet!
@americandream_892 жыл бұрын
Thanks buddy! Glad i could help out. On the ultimate it’s not as good for sure. But I didn’t really think about turning radius that much. So I can’t fit sure say the defender is better. The defender seems easier to steer.

You started off at the creek bed putting lockers/4WD on both machines. Was it necessary? What you drove through looked good enough for 2WD in High Gear. But I’m use to driving a Arctic Cat 700 Quad in the woods. I ask because I want to move up to a 2 door defender limited for comfort but not if it can’t handle normal terrain without lockers or 4WD because it’ll never get in and out of places I go up here in Canada.
@americandream_89 Жыл бұрын
Most of that trail can be in 2wd with the rear locked. Other wise both machines are one wheel drive. So I try my best not to spin so the trail stays nice. They go pretty well in 2wd rear locked.

I have noticed twice now, (2 different video's 2 different drivers) when the tires on the can am hit the wet rock, they loose their grip coming off that first incline into the creek. The tires on the ranger are grabbing, and never loose traction. It's the tires not the machine. But something to note. +1 to the 29's
@americandream_892 жыл бұрын
You are spot on. Tires mean everything for traction. I can’t do anything under a 29” on any machine. If you took a 27” to a true riding trail it would take more effort.

As a person, that doesn’t know much about side by sides other than the videos, he watches on KZbin and I’ve only ever been in one that was a Polaris diesel I’m pretty sure it was a very comfortable ride it was not an enclosed but I will say this I’ve had a Yamaha 4 wheeler growing up and I’ve always wanted a side-by-side. And. This video has helped me. Definitely make a decision. Though I don’t have the money at the moment. It definitely has helped me on which one. I think the overall winner for me is the Polaris ranger. Though it’s not as luxurious. It seems to last longer and not have as many parts repair. I have known several people to have problems with Canam not that the products ain’t nice they are just more likely to break something. But Polaris is I think more reliable. And I think a little bit smaller and when you’re hunting and in small trails it makes all the difference I want everybody to be comfortable in what I get but at the same time I don’t want you out and spend 30+k lol 😂
