Welcome Disc Golf fans to the final round of the PDGA Pro Disc Golf World Championships! You will notice a difference in the sound of our commentary audio because we recorded in front of a live studio audience for the first time ever! Think live podcast, but for disc golf coverage. We welcome your feedback regarding this first attempt at an event like this. As always, thank you for watching and we hope you enjoy.

I think it's be great to get video of the commentators during the live coverage to be similar to the previous rounds, and if possible, a separate mic that has less echo. The video isn't as needed but the audio quality hurts a bit, especially with it being the finals of worlds compared to the earlier rounds.
@HouseOfMontague12 жыл бұрын
What is the intention of doing it live? I think in theory this sounds great, but there were no shots of the commentators and none of the crowd. Beyond some chuckles there was very little crowd reaction / interaction. I’m assuming everyone in the crowd was well aware of the results and that seemed to take away from some of the reactions you’d get from a true live event. I almost think the format would work better if it was a simulcast and in partnership with DGN, similar to Manning during MNF. I know that’s difficult since the guys may be playing their rounds, but overall this didn’t feel much different than your regular shows except with a slight hit to the quality. Still appreciate you all trying new things and brining more to fans. Would have been cool to do a Q&A after since you had a crowd and allow the live experience to feel more interactive that way.

If you ever do this again I’d like to hear the live audience way more. Mic them too. Almost level with the commentary like a sitcom. That way we can all get the live experience. It sounds like there were only ten people there and they were all sitting in the very back.

Paul's putt on 17 is going to be remembered for a long time I think, same as James Conrad in 2021. It won't get the same hype because it wasn't on 18 and wasn't as far away from the pin, but it was every bit as clutch as the Holy Shot in my opinion. Just looking at Paul's reaction to making that putt sent chills through me. Amazing performance from both him and Aaron Gossage.
@deanotto1130 Жыл бұрын
It should be even more clutch, as I don’t think Conrad was saying I have to make this. Where McBeth was like I have to make this. Conrad was I have to throw this good enough and give it the best chance I can. As with any long throw in there is a bit of luck as a sudden gust or lack of wind is something you can’t control. Where mostly with long puts it skill and clutch gene ( controlling the pressure).

It's amazing to me how much of a mental game this sport can be. You see people make putts from outside circle all the time but find OB and their putting rate drops. You see someone who seemed to struggle on the putting green the entire tournament make a huge bomb of a 80 footer in the most important moment and someone miss the island green he'd make otherwise just because of the pressure. I am truly inspired by Paul's mental toughness! Maybe without Conrad's steal last time he wouldn't have won it this year. Sad for Aaron to come short just like that but he should be really proud of himself. Of course the technical aspect is very very important. It's just crazy to me how mentally tough Paul is. While watching Paul play his first round I didn't have much expectations for him but at Jomez they said something like that even the guys who were shooting -12 or so won't have their streak goin' forever. It's how they come back after a bad shot. That's exactly what happened to Paul. He found a way to overcome bad streaks and adopt. Also I am super happy for Clemons to have played so well! Man, Disc Golf Guy was giving it to Paul at the interview lol. "You keep coming up short in major tournaments - what does this mean to you?" and parting shot - "took you four years... but you're world champ again." savage!

Paul and Terry are pretty good friends. He made Paul dig deep with those questions. Great interview I thought...

Loved the shots of the camera crew at the end! Thanks for capturing disc golf at its best! And those commentators, they're the best in the biz 🤘

I really enjoyed the way you change the editing to include a bit more shots of the players between shots as the tournament develops. The live commentary was good, and I'm happy Paul descended back from the ethereal plane between F9 and B9. Next time I would like to hear some more of the crowds (in studio) energy. It feels like they are stifling themselves a bit. Maybe encourage them to really cheer for their favorite players? Anyway, cheers for taking a risk! And amazing coverage as always!

It’s awesome to see a new approach to the coverage with the live format- it definitely adds something special. I’m a fan of it since it’s changed up what can become a repetitive format. An improvement could be to have some cutaways to the live crowd and the booth so we could see the fan reactions. Great work dudes!

Watch a clutch battle. Speechless. You could hear Sexton tearing up at the end, thanking everyone. Emotional. Incredible!

Way to recover and dial in that audio! On a positive note, you know what not to do next year regarding the audio. If that's the only real issue you ran into, I'd say it's a success! Thanks Jomez Team!

McBeth's put on 17! It's what makes him great.

@JomezPro Request: I love the segments you do where you have 4 pros try to recreate a shot. Put 4 pros on hole 17 after Paul McBeth's first drive. They have to throw it through that gap and wherever they land make the put. I don't think you could find many pros that could do it even 1 out of 10 times.
