I'm also in southwest Louisiana, so glad I finally found a local gardener doing this. Thank you!

I now know why my Earth Box didn't work - I used potting soil rather than potting mix. Thank you!

You’re very welcome. A quality potting mix will do the trick. And you can always add pelletized gypsum to help it drain and wick even better. Thanks for watching and commenting. Happy Growing.

Hi! Just found your channel. I live in Hammond. Could you please do another video on the Earthbox? Maybe what you learned with the Brusselsprouts, pros and cons. Thx.

Hello neighbor. Thanks for watching and commenting. Earth boxes take a lot of the guess work out when you grow in them. With regard to Brussels. Fertilization. Is key. I found they were heavy feeders compared to other fall plants. Essentially the only difference. Hope that helps. I’ll try my best to get some Brussels going. I fear an early freeze this year. Happy growing

I've been doing a lot of research on these boxes. Great video, thanks for the complete start to finish!! Also thanks for the tip on the water filter, I need that!! At 13.42 in your video you state that the boxes are about $400 a piece. They are currently $43 each. Your math is correct at $4.30 a year but I would hate for anyone to be discouraged when they hear that price!! I'm waiting for black Friday and I'm going to buy a bunch. Here in south Florida when it's dry you can go crazy watering. We have made a similar system out of barrels and use them for tomatoes. They work fantastic so I know these will work great as well!!

Thanks for watching and commenting. I just went back and listened to it - may be the accent. But I said they cost about $40 a piece. And then highlighted how long they last in an effort to show they are indeed worth the money year over year. Which is why I have numerous earth boxes. And unfortunately Black Friday is still the only day that earth box runs a sale. At least that I’ve seen. Additionally, i have yet to see any influencers offer discount codes either. That being said. For the quality and longevity. Still worth every penny. I too have done large wicking tubs and 5 gallon bucket growers using the same premise with good success. And I couldn’t agree more. Tomatoes are one of my favorite plants to grow in these boxes. Since tomatoes are predominately made of water. This method is ideal for optimal growth. Happy Growing.

The Sea Mineral is out of stock. Can you recommend something else? Is this a slow release, quick release or something used for bluming?

Try searching “ocean magic” for gardening. I just saw that one is in stock. Comes in resealable gallon jug which makes it nice as well. Hope that helps. Thanks for asking.

Sorry, but that's a tote with a screen and a pipe.

Must have a little magic to it then. Their patented grow systems last reported an annual profit of 6.2 million dollars. The thing just works. That screen mesh is just the right size to keep the dirt out of the water reservoir. And the roto molded tub, will outlast any commercially available tote 10 fold, out in the elements. Pretty ingenious.
