I wrestled for age 4 - 23. I never clapped in appreciation for my opponent when I lost, as she did. She showed maturity far beyond her years . I hope she can continue the sport after high school.

I was shocked to see her clap after she took that medical timeout when she was clearly exhausted and trying to take a breather. It was very nice to see because usually people who will do anything to win will feel somehow that they were cheated after they lose. We need more of it!

Brielle will need to work on her down-blocks and half-sprawls to reshot. Her opponent was working the head-tap to a outside single. From there she has to transition to a wizard, then hip-down getting her legs back. Her free hand can push the head down, cross-face, front headlocks, run the 3 quarter Nelson etc… the fact that she placed second is state is amazing and I’d be proud of her accomplishment. Wrestling is a very tough sport physically and mentally. So great job parents, coaches and Brielle for making it that far… get ready to place first next season.

I see this kid Bibla as a better wrestler, that being said she needs to GO TO A SPRAWL CAMP!!! She is STRONG, MOTIVATED and a BULLDOG.....But wrestling 101 is being able to defend the SHOT.......God bless and you did great kid!!! Regretably, not in this match. I agree however that Bibla is strong, motivated and a bulldog. Diaz had a counter for every move Bibla made, and lifted Bibla from the bottom position of a sprawl more than once. Bibla learns from her mistakes, and already has a great skillset

Brielle is very tough. She just wasn’t in this match. Maybe the stage was too big but in my semis match I got a concussion that changed everything. Not making excuses because I don’t know what happened, but she wasn’t herself. You get your brain rattled and it changes your mentality to fight. I don’t believe this was not a legitimate injury time, she’s too tough. Gotta stay low when throwing that tough collar tie when the match first started. Then she was more timid after that first takedown. After fighting off her back, it seemed to take away her typical confidence and toughness. This seems to be turning point and maybe where the injury occurred. Again this is wrestling and we tend to hide our injuries but if it’s the head or neck, that throws off equilibrium and attitude. She’s a tough wrestler that that’s going to learn to fight through this stuff but something mentally flipped early in the match and I didn’t see the typical Brielle that we’ve all become to love. She’s standing up a high and leaving yourself open. A lot of girls will take that bait leg you’re throwing out there and you’re going to make them pay. But the top level girls are gonna expose that and keep ya off balance. But we’re still proud of you as some of your biggest fans. Over the last two years, we’ve seen you develop and we all are in you corner. You’re very smart and already know all the mistakes and missed opportunities from this match. This was a tough match with a tough girl. Most importantly, it’s these matches that make you better. We love ya. Now use that stinging pain from the loss, and flip it into fuel and you’ll get that gold girl. I promise. Great season Brielle 👏👏👏

Ya. That wasn’t a loss that was an ass kicken. A lot of learning to be done there like maybe doing some offense. She just sat back with straight legs and waited to be taken down. @kenneth1755
@kenneth1755 2 жыл бұрын
@@Adelicows the comments made were not made for you Adeline. And no one cares that you're triggered by constructive observation. I too have watched this girl and noticed that she is a one trick pony. And I mentioned previously people are scouting her and will be well schooled on how to defend against the only two moves she makes on her feet. She either goes for a lateral drop or a standing headlock. The headlock is very risky unless you have the horsepower to suck her under. Long story short, she's good enough with her limited moves to beat most girls. But limited moves will rarely get you the tourney. And usually just gets you 2nd, 3rd or 4th. As for the comments above, they were made with the hopes that they might get back to her and benefit her in future competition. And finally, it doesn't matter what the level of the competition is. On all levels, it pays immensely to seek out the critiques. The critiques are what will make you better. Empty comments like, "well you were close," or "you almost pulled it off," or "you'll probably win the next time," are meaningless and give that girl nothing to sink her teeth into. Hopefully she will learn from watching the tapes and seeing the same things we did. The best win I ever had was a loss.

If you notice her feet are not set in the ready position before her second take down. That’s why you get scooped like that. You have little time to sprawl backwards to avoid that extremely slow and broadcasted second take down. Your feet should almost never be even like they were prior to the take down, that’s actually the best time to shoot on your opponent you set yourself up to get dumped by standing that way.

Why did the referee give the choice for starting position both in the 2nd and 3rd periods to girl in blue singlet. Red deferred in 2nd, green chose neutral. Then initially before blood stoppage, he gives red the option, she shows to go down. And after blood stoppage, the ref goes up to red and she asks for down but green contests and says she wants neutral, which the referee gives her.

Didn't see anything very good with this match. Girl in the gray singlet was not attacking and can't protect her legs or sprawl worth a flip. Other girl can't finish a pin. Secondly why would girl in the gray or her coaches elect for neutral start when it was very obvious that she had no chance or desire to attack legs. Reactionary wrestling is a sure way to lose matches against nearly equal or superior opponents. Not sure how long they have been wrestling, but right from the start of the match it was obvious who was going to win. Body language said it all. If either of these girls have more time, they might get to be decent. They both have issues but the girl in the gray is definitely in need of the greater amount of work to get better. Needs much better stance and motion. Hand position should never be where sprawling is impossible, as in this video. Her hands were almost straight down rather than being more up and in front. She never had a chance to drive her opponents head down in order to kill the shot getting so deep. Also, her stance started low but very quickly she was halfway standing. She obviously got to a finals round which is positive but she will never beat good wrestlers until her coaches get some major flaws in her style fixed and a more aggressive approach to her wrestling. If the other girl was better at shooting in, she would have easily tech falled her. Being honest with what I see here. She does have potential it's just a matter of working on the things that she is obviously uncomfortable doing. She needs much more stance and motion drills, so her back doesn't give out as was obvious (stance continued to get higher as the match wore on). It's really nothing more than a lot more fundamental drills needing to be done. Fundamental drills should make up at least half of each and every practice. Close matches almost always are decided by the opponent who can maintain their fundamentals the best.

Too upright, lack of movement, and feet not back. Lots of high risk reward moves. She got beat by takedowns. There are times when you need to grind out riding your opponent on the matt with good standup defense. I love that she is always looking to score when she is top on the mat. I also really like here ability to scammble. Congrats on this huge accomplishment. State Runner-up is something to be very proud of.
