2022 Giant Trance X 29er 2. First Look and Weight!
The price point of this particular bike puts it into one of the most sought-after category of mountain bikes. I would classify this as an entry to the high end mountain bikes. Because of the supply chain issues we have been facing, this has made these bikes difficult to get.
BUT, I finally got my hands on one. The Giant Trance X isn't lasting long on the floor so I rushed a bit to get this out to you guys. Thank you for all of your support and I will see you in the next one!

I got my 2021 Trance X 29-3 when they first came out (because it was about the only mountain bike available in the sold-out market), it has been my first real mountain bike. I have loved it so far, with minimal issues from the SX rear mech.

I got luck last April 2021 and scored a Trance X online. Great bike for the money but ordered a GX derailleur and shifter after the first ride which took like 6 months to get in and now the bike is great!

Just got mine trance x2 from Giant, I absolutely love it (it’s also my first fully squish), I went with the metallic black.. it’s an absolute monster at everything I throw at it.. it’s also a beauty to look at 😍

our local giant dealer has this model, already on discount. seemed like a really sweet deal, but man, that SX ruins everything. still, thanks for sharing your thoughts on this bike. I hope you'll have a chance to get your hands on Giant Trance 2 2022. still waiting for our local dealer to get it, and no idea on pricing. but it is bike that looks interesting if they hit right pricing range. keep up with the great videos Mossie!

@@Beendan I switched out the suspension so it’s fine now but the fox DPS was always bottoming out. I put a float X on it and it’s way better.

Which one do you recommend? Trance x 29 1 or Trance 29 1. I’m not gonna rid rough trails too often but don’t know. Just don’t know what would be the downside of the long travel - pedaling efficiency maybe?

Hey, I was wondering if somebody on here can help me? I upgraded my derailer and shifter to an Shimano SLX . I got the SLX cassette with the bundle. Can I replace the hub with a microspline hub or do I need to get a whole new wheel?

thanks for the video! this is the bike im about to buy , my question is i am 5 9 165lbs new to mtn biking but i good athlete and wondered if i should go with a small or med?

At 5’9 I would steer you towards a medium. I’m 5’11 and ride a large. If you get to pedal both sizes around I would set the saddle height the same and see which reach you like better. I hope that helps!

Great job with the video (as always). The maestro suspension is great but I don't think the Trance can beat the Orbea Occam in terms of value for money, considering that they are very similar bikes. What's your thoughts? Thanks!

Honestly, if both bikes were the same price/spec I would have to go with the Occam simply because of how beautiful their aluminum work is. The entry level trance is $2700 though whereas the Occam is $3200 I believe BUT comes with Deore and not SX which is a plus. The price point is what I think will sway someone more than anything.

@@MossieRidesBikes entry level occam here is 2599€ and you can get it for around 2300€. After a lot of reading I ended up ordering that one to upgrade it with DT swiss ex 1700 and xt 4 pot that I already had. Can't beat this :)

I got this bike with the poverty spec 2 since I knew I'd upgrade it quite a lot. Love the frame and shock, should have bought a bare frame... The sx groupset, Gold 35 fork and tektro Orion 4p were very unreliable, all warrantied and finally upgraded in the first month. 2 bike park trips killed everything, the worse is the hubs on the am29 wheelset, unbranded HG body scealed rear bearings, ABSOLUTELY NOT DT OR CLONES lose bearings in front, rear hub always had slack I only rode the stock wheelset couple of hours since it was eating brake pads and not shifting well. The store didn't want to help it until all stock parts were put back on the bike. 😮 Found another local giant store, same story 😶🤬 In the bin with the SX and fork lol 😢 Still happy with the bike I wish I could sell oem parts or keep em for spare...

I really want to get the one in medium that is sitting at my local shop in black … but it’s not in my financial cards right now … I got my talon 2 in November and just upgraded the fork on it … I won’t be able to get a full suspension for about a year 😣

Giant should of specc'd a Revelation RC fork which can be upgraded to the charger 2.1 damper. 35 Gold is a POS fork.

Interesting how they downgraded all the lineup of trance X models) 2022 model 2 the same as was model 3 with disgusting SX chainset 🤦‍♂️ ordered trance x 29 3 2021 and at the same time ordered Deore XT system instead of SX)

Plastic? Soon they'll be actual bikes made of plastic. Yip. Very soon. I love this ally-rig. Purchased an XL(two-years of savings for an e-bike, and Giant creates this beauty). the madness is the 30mm internal width rims. They are a joke. any rig with 2.5 or larger tires deserves standard 33 or 35mm internal width rims. It only makes sense. Problem is: wider rims, don't mean better support for heavy/brutal riders. So choose wisely. My front is a Halo Vortex, with a Halo Vapor 35 rear. The tires are a 2.5 front. 2.35 rear. And why...Marzocchi? A Suntour Aion, is just as capable/worthy, and less cost. Why is it when FS fanatics notice Suntour, they avoid-it? I've been using Sram SX, for two years, without any complaining.
