You forgot to put back something. That 1 tarp and 3 tapes. 😆 😂 Having mine about a month or so, shim checks are too be dreaded. Good thing its for 5000kms. Thanks for sharing.

I'd wager they'd be fine until 6000-8000km, honestly wouldn't worry too much and just ride it. And I probably forgot a few things, I'm sure I'll find them while riding :).

@@SCakey what's that tarp for anyway? Seems like a guard of all the debris the front tire throws at it? Makes a lot clicking noise i guess.

@@manugatzi6158 Ohh you're referring to the 'heat shield' I had on my gas tank I think. I added it last year but it wasn't sticking well so I just removed it here. It's not stock, I just do it to keep gas from boiling.

How's the new cams going? Any changes in the character?

I have a low mileage WR250r Yamaha I’ve seen these motors going 70k with no motor work love it for trail riding and valve adjustment every 20k

Great video. Thank for the info. I noticed your kickstand / side stand. Which brand and model is it? Did you make the bend yourself? Thank you.

silly question, why did you change the cams? to increase the power? do you feel any difference when riding the bike?

Great 👍 i think you took 3 days 😅 to replace this stuff 😊

So basically a130.00 Valve check at a bike shop will cost 1500.00 to remove the engine bolts etc. I’m glad you made this video. I was actually thinking of getting this bike. Looks like a Money pit if you don’t do the work yourself.

Should only be a few hours work. All depends on what state your in and what the average labor rate is around the bike shops. Parts are cheap for these bikes
@fattie2550 Жыл бұрын
@@bobbybecker8834 labor rate is 125-150 range in Idaho.

@@bobbybecker8834 That’s why I said it would cost 1500.00 for a valve check. I just paid 160.00 for my 2023 YZ250 for a valve check. Taking the engine off the bike would cost an arm and a leg. Just not worth to buy that GPX unless you have the time and skill set to work on the bike yourself. I ride dirt bikes to ride, not to work on them.
@bobbybecker8834 Жыл бұрын
@@fattie2550 you're not pulling the engine just dropping it down in the frame. Shouldn't take more than 4-5 hours. This guy had to figure it out all on his own but for anyone who needs this information now has it and should only take half the time depending on experience. To say 1500 for a valve check is a bit much

Hey Sam, how is the gearbox on your GPS? And thanks for the video! Good stuff

No issues but I do have a kevlar clutch pack in this bike. The OEM clutch pack changes a lot during the first 20mins of riding and loosens up so generally have to adjust clutch slack a bit. The kevlar plates don't do that. cscmotorcycles.com/clutch-kevlar-heavy-duty-barnett-6pc-set/

Sorry for the ignorance as i dont wrench on 4 strokes that often. Was upgrading the cams for a performance boost or just peace of mind?
@SCakey Жыл бұрын
No worries. Cams to change the feel of the engine, in this case the cams are 'mild-torque cams' so they are designed to increase low/mid range torque. It was solely a performance change thing for me and these are massively different cams from stock, just add a bit more.
