The fact that they share names is purely brand management. The 80s civic was an entirely different car made by entirely different set of people. People like to invoke nostalgia and "heritage" by considering these to be evolutions of the previous gens but quite frankly this car is built for the market of 2022 with absolutely no evolution in mind. The more honest nameplate for this car should be Honda 2022 compact sedan.

Pretty interesting design for the new civic, I'm seeing a little bit of Honda Accord looks in this new model. But otherwise this version of the sedan looks way better than the previous generation sedan, I always liked the hatchback version of the previous generation but this is a nice change for the sedan.

I like how it looks more like the versions Honda releases in Europe. It makes sense too considering cars like the Mazda 3 and the Hyundai Elantra look really upscale. Good solid vehicle and well priced in a world where car prices are going completely apeshit.

The video really gives back the feeling of the power detachment from the throttle impulse in a CVT driven system. Regardless of the outstanding engineering from Honda that is encompassed in this model, it still lacks a fundamental element of the driving experience that is associated with a car equipped with an ICE. Saying this fully aware of the narrow design space left by constraints like emissions and manufacturing costs.

This video reminds me once again of how CVT lets you down during sporty driving after two years of ownership of a 10th gen hatchback with the same engine although it is very comfy for cruising and city driving. It is good to see improved quality all around but those honeycomb-style vents look so dull to me. Cars like the new 308 have much more technology involved in the cabin and feel much sportier.

@@OfficialXiaoLing you may be right, I also have a Citroen DS3 now. I can't say that the engine is very reliable, but I think there's been a lot of improvement in recent years. And you have fewer warranty issues. I had a 6-year warranty on my civic but it was useless.

For the $30K (LOL!) this is quoted, you can almost get Mazda 3 Turbo. If you don't mind the smaller car, Mazda 3 with 2.5T engine blows this out of the water in literally every other segment besides the size. (At least that was my impression from test driving them.)

Have you been in the boonies with no cell signal? That’s when the onboard GPS comes in handy. It also probably has better multi-point routing if it’s still a Garmin system.

I don't know why they didn't make 8-cylinder engines and above, but I think they rely on the Vitec system and turbochargers on the six-cylinder engines to ensure power, beautiful sound, and fuel savings, and their cars are really powerful.
