Nice! I have an Aegean Blue 2020 Si. The lease is up in December but I have a 2022 Si in Aegean Blue ordered. The parking brake will also turn off if the engine is on, your seatbelt is on and the car is in gear and you release the clutch to go. I love how even when you’re having fun and pushing it it will still return great fuel economy! That funnel in the trunk is for refueling the fuel since it’s capless.

Enjoyed your video. I have the Canadian spec Si. It's absolute nonsense from Honda USA about not providing a spare tire because "it's a sports car". That's just an excuse for not providing one... just as they rationalize the lack of other features that the Canadian version has. In Canada it comes with a spare, jack, etc., along with: fog lights (as you mentioned), parking sensors (front and rear), LED signal lights on the mirrors, automatic wipers, remotes for a garage door and home security system, automatic lights, auto-dimming mirror, full-sized digital screen display with shift lights, heated front seats, heated steering wheel (again, as you mentioned), dual zone climate control, wireless charger, navigation, heated rear seats, and two USB jacks for those in the rear seats. I have read that when they were establishing which model of the 2022 Civic the Si would be built up from, Honda USA chose a lower model, whereas Honda Canada chose a higher model with all the mod cons (then added the Si spec parts). Others have argued that the difference in spec is the result of the chips shortage - all the extra content in the Canadian version requires quite a few more chips per Si compared to the US Si. Maybe they figured they had enough chips for the small number of Si's they'd sell up here, but not enough to equip all the US Si's. I love mine. Hope you and your son enjoy yours.

Thanks for the reply. We do love ours. That being said, I think we'd love it more with all of the other options Canadians like yourself get. I wouldn't be surprised if the 2023 US models come standard with the Canadian options. I think I'd most like the heated seats and steering wheel....but we're happy with what we have. Even missing all of the Canadian options, it is still possibly the best option at this price point.

@@SpeedingMedia I agree - for the price - in either country - it is a great buy. I particularly love the suspension and steering. They make driving it very enjoyable. And as you note, it has excellent mileage and lots of room for a vehicle in this category.

Reason why the Honda cheaped out on those features in US is because most SI sales are from warm climate states like California, Texas and Florida. Plus they know people in US will buy it regardless because its an SI and very popular with young buyers. Canada on the other hand has a very cold climate most of the year and these cars do not sell well over there. Therefore they added the extra features to lure more buyers and on top of the extra equipment being offered the price of the Canadian SI is still $1k cheaper than the US model.

I have that exact vehicle. Slap the HPD package on it. Looks so good. Are you experiencing input lag in Apple Car Play? Takes a solid 2 seconds to switch songs. Back up camera is trash at night time. Thats my only 2 complaints. Love it!!! You mentioned getting it for your son. The resale value will hold strong on these as well, another benefit ❤️

I haven't taken notice to the Apple Carplay lag, but I will keep an eye on it though. If the HPD makes it lower, I probably would hesitate doing that. I'm concerned about it being low to the ground and trashing it on speed bumps, etc... He's spent 100% of his time driving four-wheel drive vehicles, so he doesn't have any experience with a car with almost no ground clearance.

@@SpeedingMedia HPD is just the wing, front, and side skirts, with blacked out lettering and emblems. It does not mess with lowering the vehicle. The one thing to absolutely look out for is curb rash due to the low profile tires. Sometimes the curbs just jump out in front of us when driving 😂😂 I had a 2018 Accord 1.5 t Sport and after 4 years of ownership, all 4 tires had a little rash on them. Thank goodness when I traded it in the dealership bought it sight unseen 😂😂

How does one get the HPD package Do you ask the dealership to install it for you before you take delivery of the car or what, and how much does it cost and the gains you get?

I’ve been waiting for like 6 months for a 22 hatchback sport touring. The dealer said they were getting this SI and and I just switched over to that. im pretty excited.

Interested in some feedback on the auto start-stop feature in this car! How has that treated you so far?

It works as it should. When in sport mode it never shuts off. However, in the normal mode it will cycle on/off at red lights, etc.. with the car in neutral or the clutch in.

You got a good price, i live in California Bay Area and its tough to get the new SI for MSRP + tax and license. They mark up the SI very high $31-36k plus

I honestly don’t understand why they made the American version different but I feel like they will do a whole change to it because they have been getting a lot complaints on it.

We've been doing alot of "learn to drive manual" lessons around parking lots. Starting...stopping....rinse...repeat. Even for that stuff its getting just under 30mpg. I think we'll be very satisfied with the fuel efficiency.
