It's hideous The overall exterior design might have worked but the front end looks like a thrown away van sketch Hyundai dug out of the trash can at a VW design studio in 2013 The interior is extremely pretentious and is everything wrong with EVs Also anyone foolish enough to make the promo and default interior of a car they are selling white is just plain trying too hard Mechanically speaking it's a good card But that's it, they worked from the internals backwards and they took the wrong visual cues from a cyberpunk craze that's already a decade old. Typical car company doesn't understand a craze and by the time they act up on it it's already old Which is weird to me since Syd Mead invented cyberpunk vehicular design and literally has two books dedicated to the very basic philosophy of how you design one(and even has made a few videos on why and how), so all they had to do was check him out to understand the whole thing

It is the fuggliest thing you've ever seen irl. This and the EV6 they gave small-car visual design cues but the size is mid-size SUV footproot. You can't tell on a YT vid or in pictures because your brain doesn't have the right visual context cues, but it looks cartoonishly bloated in real life.

@@Elios0000 nah, the Vision 74 is ugly as sin too It has visual CUES you like so your brain glosses over the rest of it Thing looks like an ugly heap but because they copied a few design elements from the Delorean you see it with rose tinted glasses You get a car show with one being shown off go look for yourself It's ugly as shit

I love the look of this car because it's the first production EV I've seen that looks like a futuristic concept car from the late 80's but it's actually real. Most of the other EVs are indistinct blobs but this car is recognizable and cool looking.

Absolutely not. There isn't a Moore's Law to cars, the EV's we have now will one day be looked back on as the big inefficient dinosaurs at the dawn of electrification. These are big electron gulping electricity hogs, we cant make every car a 4500 pound monster.

@@raiyaankazi Right now transistors are approaching atomic size. Moore's Law is reaching its peak. I feel like everyone must be driving different Hyundais than I have access to. I've driven their entire lineup since they entered the U.S. market in the 1990s and they remain the biggest rattletraps I have ever driven. From brand-new to broken-in, Hyundai's build quality has always been subpar in my experience even in the 2022-23 models. Side note: As the Hyundai marketing department will tell you, "It's 'hyundai' as in 'sundae.'" In other words, stop saying "hy-un-day," it's "hun-day." Love the video, as always!

I lost it at "I only bust at right angles". These are actually really popular in the military community at the moment, I have two co-workers who have one. They are both relatively close to work and have access to charging infrastructure. My commute is 150 miles round trip and no access to a charging station at work. Plus, I don't have the funds for a garage charging station. We live in Washington so mostly powered by hydro, nuclear, wind and natural gas. So, my conscience would be pretty clear as our side of the mountains has very little natural gas powered plants. Still, I am priced out at the moment and the commute length gives me pause without adequate charging options. I feel this is the conundrum many face and I will most likely go hybrid (Maverick!) before going full electric.

The 0-60 on a Model Y DM is 4.8s. The ioniq5 and its EV6 sibling have been timed at 4.5s. It's the single motor cars where the Model Y is noticeably faster. The ioniq5 is the comfy one, the Mach-e and EV6 are the more fun to drive ones, and the Model Y is the "an car"; not the best at anything but also not the worst - it just kind of "there"; it's the software in Teslas that makes them worth getting if you value such things over all else.

I really like what Kia/Hyundai have been doing for the past 10 years. They're like Toyota and VW in the 90's, just throwing stuff out there and seeing what works. Everyone else is making $60k crossovers and trucks as we approach an inevitable fuel crisis and recession; Sonata N's got 300hp under $35k. Kia released a sports wagon in Germany; that's a move of a company that doesn't care about consequence. Next up is a Queen Elizabeth Fish and Chip stand in the center of London.
