Dan, You started your review with an apology, how Canadian is that? If, for some reason, I was shopping for a 3 ton, gas-guzzling, carbon-belching, old school, naturally aspirated, V8, body-on-frame SUV, I would buy a base Sequoia.😁

I recently got rid of my QX80 and I drove that car mostly in the city. My mileage never dipped below 22L/100KM on premium LOL. I won’t miss it because I have a fully loaded BMW iX50 on order. My other 2 cars are Chevrolet Bolt EVs so no more gas cars for me.

with all gas expenses you paid way a lot more for BMW. Plus maintenance will kill you. I paid $2200 for from rotors and breaks for my Audi Q7 2019. I dont know if you aware of all high performance German cars like BMW MB Audi Porsche use soft components on breaks and rotors for better performance. Which means you will change them frequently. I change front breaks on my 2018 MB s560 every 10-15,000 miles. Im in NY. Its expensive. Your model well above $100,000 this days. Dont know. I get rid of Audi tired of small trunk and other things I dont like. Design the only thing I missed. Got 2023 q80 for bargain. Their new qx80 coming this fall will start around $100,000 crazy. Redesigned but still crazy. Lots of BMW x7 comes with sport package. Stay away from it. Tires will creat lots of troubles. Its 21" run flat. Complete joke. Leased MB S550 in 2016 with sport package with those tires. Didn't have a clue what it is. Until learned hard way. Very unreliable. MB didn't provide even spare tire. When you loos tire like this on highway you done. Any infection on the road scratch by side of the tire and its out. Pothole and your heart drop down every time when you run over. They are not run flat they are dead. 7 tires changed for 2 years. I f you can avoid that package.

Tech gets dated fast, however, a powerful engine, ride comfort and quality materials define luxury so in the end, this may be dated but it still is a pleasure to soak up miles in. That is what matters most to me.

The feel is top, quiet, confident steering, cornering and breaking, solid, smooth refined instant power/suspension luxurious materials/finish, space, and certain features like safety and driver assist and the one that kills me is that the dca can’t be setup to turn on automatically - my 3rd qx56/80 and this is still a miss is inexcusable nissan has to release a sw patch where we can deafult safety features on!!!! Though i have to say the break pedal door close of my previous model X and the smart homelink are also key to a luxury feel, masaging seats in an rv sure, but not key for me in an suv.

Features don’t make luxury and old school Benz has no features but high quality leather soft seats and good build quality it’s timeless

You can find $7500 off on the QX80 while Escalades have market adjustments. Upwards.

I have owned two of these. A 2017 and now a 2022 Sensory. I love this truck - it's a truck. They could ditch the rear seat tech with the screens as they are totally useless. Kids are best to bring their own ipad with movies downloaded. The screens are not independent so what is the point if your kids want to watch their own shows. You also need connections to make it project your screen. It's very clunky. Lose it. Japanese built - best quality. Auto levelling system for towing is still prone to fail - this needs a better fix where the compressor is not exposed to elements. Rear hitch cover quick change is much better. I have looked at mercedes, lincoln, cadillac and others. Hands down, the Infiniti is the best value - I would describe it as conservative luxury. It's also $20-30K cheaper than the competitors. Yep fuel economy sucks. I do use it for towing and it's more than powerful enough.

The wireless overheats my phone very quickly so is useless :(. Warranty says its working as designed - no way that this is what infiniti japan designed but am stuck if dealer won’t fix it!

Sorry to disagree but, I have both the brown and the beige and love the beige much more, it was not hard to keep clean but what really frustrates me and has me wanting ro replace the brown interior is not the brown, i agre its quite nice, but its paired with black carpet and headliner and that i really dislike and find is instantly showing dirt, impossible to keep clean for 2 days :(. I regret buying it with all that black plus it also feels more claustrophobic/cramped. While i am on this 3rd post i might as well share that the 2022+ infotainment with carplay is quite nice and negates the need for many features like built in nav, but the theater monitors for the 2nd row are a huge downgread despite the much nicer look and better lcd becuase you can’t play protected content without the a hdmi caple popping straight out of the driver side headrest and being pluged into a dongle to a tablet/phone this has rendered them dead weight, wireless streaming should be retrofitted by infiniti!

The fuel economy isn’t that bad for what it is. It will be worse in those cold Canadian conditions though. Are we really complaining about memory seat buttons that will hardly ever be pressed? From a reliability standpoint it will be superior to the Escalade. GM has not figured out how to keep their active fuel management engines reliable.
