I have watched this video well over 100 times and am still in awe of your talent Christian. I use your videos as a way to learn and try and refine my own shooting. Keep it up- Eddy

I shot IPSC/USPSA back before IDPA had even been thought of. Back when Robby Leatham and Doug Koenig were the hotshots. It is truly gratifying for an old feller to see youngsters excel in this sport and observe as the torch is perpetually passed on. Good shootin, young man!

What is the purpose of the metal rod protruding to the left above your thumb?
@maximilianmustermann5763 Жыл бұрын
It's a charging/racking handle. You can do pretty much whatever you want with your gun in open division as long as the magazine isn't longer than 170mm. A charging handle lets you rack the slide faster and more reliably.

4:38 whoa! Photographer stands like 8 meters from traget and angle between you, target and him is very small....is this normal on IPSC comeptitions? This seems to me like very dangerous situation.

Very safe
@R1chAssholeАй бұрын
It’s very safe especially in competitive settings because the shooters are superb and extremely disciplined. I wouldn’t *want* to be there, but even still as long as the gun isn’t actually pointing at you it can’t hurt you.

Outstanding skills. I would just ask.... it is strange that a lot of these events take place in a Country (Thailand) that forbids private firearm ownership. As an IPSC sport participant in Australia, I find this kind of Government Hypocrisy somewhat strange.
@maximilianmustermann5763 Жыл бұрын
According to Wikipedia, one in ten Thai citizens is a legal gun owner. They also have an official Thai IPSC website (THPSA) that features a long list of matches for 2023. So I guess your info must be wrong. Most countries around the world don't allow carrying guns in public - but very many countries allow gun ownership and sports shooting.

@@joeykerr1384 curious what doesn't look right? Not even remotely close to 180 degrees rule...?
@joeykerr1384 Жыл бұрын
@@calebbaer7889 I think there's a deceptive effect of the camera lens, plus the photographer guy leaning slightly towards the shooting area that make it look closer than it is. It's just unusual to see the target, muzzle, and spectator in the same camera shot. So watching first time through in full speed it was just a "whoa, that doesn't look right"

This video shows the futility of the IPSC rule that you cannot move more than one step without your trigger finger being outside the trigger guard. The rule is impossible to be applied with consistency to any fast shooter, Good shooting though.

Whenever I watch world class IPSC shooters in international matches, I think to myself they'd probably be DQ'ed in every stage by an overzealous RO in my regional level 1/2/3 matches. Some of them seem to think they get some kind of bonus points for DQ'ing people.
