@@rrtruckcentersdoes it come with an option for a air bag gauge
@rrtruckcenters27 күн бұрын
@@carlosmedrano3549 Can you please elaborate? Air bag gauge for what? The FTR currently does not come with safety air bags. It will have air gauges for the air system for the air brakes only. Does that answer your question?

What wheelbase or ca length should I be looking at to haul 16’ cans? I’m in Ohio it seems most states are ok with a 2’ overhang. I guess if I got one to haul 16’ with no overhang I could also haul 18’ if I came across some. I like the idea of 16’ cans to make it easier for people to load them vs the short cans with high sides. I don’t hear anyone discussing this on all the guys I follow on KZbin so maybe it’s not a big deal? I’d really like to get a for or fvr derated truck. Maybe you could do a video discussing this topic and show different size cans on your truck. Thank you. Hope business is good.

Is this a hooklift application or roll-off?
@adamholbrook2281Ай бұрын
@ I plan to go hooklift and I’d like an auto tarp as well. Thank you.
@rrtruckcentersАй бұрын
@@adamholbrook2281 I would try and decide on a hooklift brand. If you want to run different size cans Swap Loader is one to consider or Stellar. They will know what cab to axle you'll need and will also be able to guide you on the bumper. Check website for FMCSA. Keep in mind most hooklift vendors have bumper extensions that bolt or weld on that extends the bumper to keep you running legally. Make sure to also consider the transmission before picking a chassis. 3000RDS will provide more benefits than a 2500RDS. If you can deal with only running the hook in neutral and in reverse only, the 2500RDS will be fine. If you want to run it in forward and reverse gears you need the Allison 3000RDS. Limited forward speeds with the Allison 3000RDS too. Allow 10"-12" for a tarp tower along with your cab to axle.

Great video. What is the gear ratio? Also, is there an extended cab version of the truck to have at least 24" behind the seat so it makes a DOT legal sleeper cab?
@rrtruckcenters2 жыл бұрын
Nik, thank you for watching! The standard gear ratio is 5.57 but you can option for 4.88 if you choose. If you run mainly flat ground, the 4.88 would be the one you would favor. Concerning the room behind the cab... they currently do not have a deeper extended cab. I was not aware that DOT has a minimum requirement for a DOT regulation for a sleeper, so for that I thank you! The cab does have a track in the ceiling that could be used for a privacy curtain though, but that is not advertised. With your provided info, now I know why. Thanks.

Yesi just bought a 2023 ftr I haven't measured it but it's pretty big I'd say close to 24. There's a track in the ceiling for a curtain.

They're just now getting the 6.7 cummins that been in the ram trucks and freightliners for years? That part is not impressive. Everything else I do like about that truck.
@rrtruckcenters2 жыл бұрын
The FTR has a lot of company running the Cummins B6.7 motor… Mack MD’s, Hino L6 and L7, International 4300, and Freightliner M2. With our emission levels we continue to have to meet, Cummins is one of the few remaining standing. It takes too much R&D money to invest in the designs of these engines with the constant level changes. Also the reason we are seeing the push to EV’s. At least if the EV’s stop working we can use Cummins diesel generators to charge them.
@lauramurray66902 жыл бұрын
No it's not the 6.7 that's in the ram
@jameswalker924410 күн бұрын
At least with it being the Cummins, you can get the delete done and have it running like it should.
