2022 Kink Whip Review - (BEST VALUE 20" BMX BIKE)

I ride a local's Whip 20.5" often enough and he's a little bigger than me, too. Apart from the weight, which he cut right down with a set of Colony Sweet Tooth forks and some Grifter foldable tires, he's very satisfied with it and hasn't had any issues. Once he finds some more money, he's putting a set of matching chrome Sweet Tooth bars on it, too. Like Doug, it's hard to recommend any other BMX at full retail price. I've seen some exceptions but that's limited on-sale stock. On the other hand, if you have extra money to spend at the time of purchase, it's worth looking at something different than spending extra on new high-quality forks and bars as you'll most likely save some money overall. Look for a complete that features a 1-piece steerer tube fork and everything else on it will be above average quality.

The first good bike I bought was the 2018 Kink Gap in Lavender splatter, I still ride it today and bought it the summer kink started selling it. The only thing to go on that bike was the front hub stud from grinding, other than that it's solid and it looks like they've kept up with their bikes as well

I just ordered a Mankind Sunchaser for £390 in a sale. I looked for a kink whip but it's £600 in the UK. The mankind looks like its got a matching spec though which is cool for the price!

I personally own the Whip XL and I am a heavier rider, around 220lbs. The only issue I've had with the bike so far is the sprocket bending, but that was when I was heavier and rode the bike pretty heavily.

What about the Kink Gap? Cheaper and the specs say only the brakes are an upgrade.

The kind gas has single wall rims and 50% hi tensile forks with a 50% hi tensile steel frame

@@zerostarinc so they word it funny to trick people. “100% 4130 chromoly tt, ht, and dt” meaning the KZbin down tube and headstone are 100% chromoly, while the wishbone and seat tube are hi tensile steel
