Man you (AJ) ripped that 125 tiddler around that track like noone I've ever seen! Super impressive that you were actually faster on the 125. At 200-ish lbs I'm too heavy for a 125 2 stroke, but for someone 140-160 lbs I'd say that bike is perfect. If only the AMA would allow 125s and 150s to line up against 250Fs I think they could be competitive.

@@DRIVESHOWTV Thanks for this info. Its good to know these 125s will pull me around then, since I'm bumping up against 214 fully dressed. I wonder how everyone’s lap times would have changed with some really cheap mods to the 125, especially Eriks. Flywheel weight, getting the head cut, and even changing the power valve springs change the power a lot. Really surprised on AJ’s results the most, thought the 125 wouldn’t even be close (I know, the shifting issues on the 250.). Our local pro is the same way on his 150sx over his 450. His results are actually about the same on either in Supermoto. Only really takes the 450 out for a huge track we have

@XecuTionNxx3 жыл бұрын
The new yz still won't hold a candle to a ktm. The new motor changes are nothing significant to make it competitive with the orange bikes. Never mind the fact ktm is still lighter,more powerful,better brakes and over all build quality/parts used make the yz look and feel so cheap in comparison. When my brother and i raced, I was on 250f and he was on 125 2t. We'd swap back and for for a shot now and then. Going from the 4t to the 2t I couldn't believe how much the weight difference was! The 2t was so light and flickable, but I had to dedicate 50% of my brain to keeping the thing on pipe. For me as an older (and slightly unfit) guy, the 4t is where it's at. It's like riding an automatic. Stick it in 3rd and ride 80% of the track, concentrate on lines and make use of the engine braking. I have to be honest with myself about how fast I actually am, and how fast I could be. So buying wise, when I look at the price of the 125 next to the 250f there is no competition. The 250f wins every time. The 2ts are a lot more expensive than I think they probably should be. If the price difference was greater, I may be swayed.
@bloomerb41623 жыл бұрын
Last time I rode a 250f was in 2012 on a 2011 RMZ. Thinking back it really didn't have enough low end power and 450 feels much easier to ride bc of this. I'm a beginner and 450 feels better all around compared to that RMZ. I know they increased the power of the 250f's sometime a few years later, maybe that was part of the problem for me. And the 450 I'm riding now is a 2007 kxf, all new bearings in engine, new crank and piston.

Im no one to judge but will say that Aj you’re opinion in this video counts the most simply because the others don’t really know how to ride a 125 properly, 125’s really reward those who ride them hard and if your a beginner rider that’s not aggressive you will probably hate it lol.. Daniel is a good rider but the way he was breaking and cornering on it you could tell he doesn’t have much experience riding one.. I’m sure if he spent some time on it he would be great.
@AjCatanzaro3 жыл бұрын
You have to remember though that the rider’s in the market for a 125 are a wide variety of skill levels. So, it’s important to have multiple opinions at varying skill levels of test riders. A bike could trend to be better suited for an expert rider or vice versa, and that feedback has value for the consumer
@scotta.weaver72993 жыл бұрын
The beauty of it is that you can see, for every skill level, what the difference is. Every rider has different riding backgrounds, I don't really see a pros opinion being more meaningful in this case. I'm old and slow and go about the same speed on any bike.
