I do like the KTM 1290 Adv R, haven't tried it yet. But these kind of reviews do help. Thanks for sharing. I did notice that you held the starter button down until the bike started. On this new bike the starter button does not need to be held down/in for it to start, it only needs to be pushed in once and it will/should start it self. :o)

Thanks for watching! In deed very different machine then previous versions. I also have 890 R and while riding new 1290 feels same as 890 as specially 3 piece tank help low center of gravity perfect balance on every type of riding. You won’t regret the move mate. I had a 17 as well, sold it because I was just commuting and going through tires, went to a Suzuki V-Strom 1000- lower cost of maintenance but not nearly as exciting. Sold that now that I am 100% remote and I am now wanting another 1290 =)

The new tft display is nice and looks manageable while riding. I think a lot of GS guys are going to be following other reviews and thinking seriously about moving to KTM for their next adventure bike. Or wishing they did already. That’s how it came stock. It must be here in USA they did rounded ones lol. I plan to change to doubleTake soon so it didn’t bother me at all.
